Okay, so the other day I was craving something warm and comforting, but I was also kinda bored with my usual tea routine. I remembered seeing someone online mixing green tea with milk, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”

My Little Experiment

First, I grabbed my favorite green tea bags. I usually go for the loose leaf stuff, but I was feeling lazy, so bags it was. Then, I heated up some water. I didn’t let it boil completely, just enough so it was nice and hot. You know, green tea can get bitter if the water’s too hot.

I poured the hot water into my mug, dropped in the tea bag, and let it steep for, like, three minutes. I like my tea pretty strong, so I might have let it go a little longer. Oops.

Adding the Milk

This is where things got interesting. I usually drink my green tea straight, no sugar, no nothing. But today, I grabbed the milk carton from the fridge. I just used regular whole milk, ’cause that’s what I had. I poured in a good splash – probably about a quarter of a cup? I didn’t really measure.

I stirred it all up and… well, it looked a little weird, to be honest. Kinda like a pale, swampy green. But hey, I was committed at this point.

The Taste Test

I took a sip, and… it was actually pretty good! The milk really smoothed out the bitterness of the green tea, and it gave it this creamy, almost velvety texture. It was definitely different, but in a good way. It tasted like a warm hug, I think.

Final Verdict

  • Looks: A bit strange, but don’t judge a book by its cover.
  • Taste: Surprisingly delicious! Creamy and comforting.
  • Would I make it again: Probably! It’s a nice change of pace from my usual.

So, yeah, that’s my story about putting green tea in milk. It’s not gonna win any culinary awards, but it was a fun little experiment, and it turned out better than I expected. Might even try it with some honey next time!
