Okay, so I’ve been on this whole “natural skincare” kick lately, and I decided to try making my own green tea moisturizer. I’m not gonna lie, I was a little skeptical at first, but it actually turned out pretty good!

Getting Started

First, I gathered all my stuff. I needed:

  • Green tea (obviously!) – I used loose leaf because that’s what I had, but tea bags would work too.
  • Some kind of oil – I went with sweet almond oil because it’s supposed to be good for sensitive skin.
  • Aloe vera gel – the pure stuff, not the weird blue goop.
  • Optional: a few drops of essential oil. I used lavender because it smells nice and is supposed to be calming.

Brewing and Mixing

I started by brewing a really strong cup of green tea. Like, I let it steep for a good 10 minutes. I wanted all that green tea goodness!

Then, I let the tea cool down completely. Patience is key here, people. Don’t burn yourself!

Once it was cool, I mixed about 2 tablespoons of the green tea with 1 tablespoon of almond oil and 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel in a small bowl. I added about 3 drops of lavender oil too.

I whisked everything together until it was all blended and looked kinda creamy. It wasn’t super thick, more like a light lotion.

The Test

I washed my hand, and then I applied a tiny bit of the moisturizer. I rubbed it in, and it absorbed pretty quickly. My skin felt soft and, well, moisturized! It didn’t feel greasy at all, which was a major win.

The Verdict

I’ve been using this green tea moisturizer for a few days now, and I’m honestly impressed. My skin feels hydrated, and it even seems a little brighter. Plus, I love that I know exactly what’s in it. No weird chemicals or unpronounceable ingredients!

It is a small step for every one to try make their own skincare product. It is simple, but I made it!
