black tea
Okay, so I’ve been seeing “green tea skincare” all over my socials, and I finally decided to give it a shot. I mean, I drink green tea all the time, so why not put it on my face, right?
First, I brewed a strong cup of green tea – just a regular, plain green tea bag, nothing fancy. I let it steep for a good 5 minutes, then took the bag out and let the tea cool down completely. I didn’t want to burn my face off!
Once it was cool, I poured some of the tea into a small bowl. I found a few cotton pads – the kind you use to remove makeup – and soaked them in the tea.
Then, the fun part! I washed my face with my usual cleanser, just to get all the dirt and makeup off. After that, I took the soaked cotton pads and patted them all over my face. I made sure to get every spot – forehead, cheeks, chin, even my neck.
I left the tea on my face for about 15-20 minutes. It felt kinda refreshing, actually. Like a little DIY spa treatment. After the time was up, I rinsed my face with cool water and patted it dry with a towel.
Honestly, my skin felt softer and a little bit brighter right away. It wasn’t like a miracle cure or anything, but it definitely felt nice. I’ve been doing this for a about a week now, a few times, and I think my skin is looking a bit clearer. I usually get redness, and that seems to be a little better. Maybe, right?
I’m going to keep it simple way, and will try using it as a toner after I wash my face. I’ll let you all know if I see any major changes, but so far, so good! It’s a super cheap and easy thing to try, so if you’re curious, give it a go!
