Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this green tea bag thing. Folks say it’s good for ya, real good. I ain’t no doctor, mind you, but I hear things. They say it can clean out your insides, like washin’ dirty dishes, ya know?

What’s this green tea good for, anyways?

  • They say it can help with that bad stuff in your blood, the cholesterol and whatchamacallit, triglycerides. Sounds fancy, huh? But it just means it helps keep your pipes clean, so your heart don’t gotta work so hard.
  • And them sniffles and coughs you get every winter? This green tea, it’s got stuff in it, like them… flavo-noids and poly-somethin’s, that help keep you from gettin’ sick. Strong stuff, I tell ya.
  • Oh, and the ladies, they love it for their skin and hair. Makes ’em look all young and glowy. I don’t know ’bout that, wrinkles are just a sign you lived a good long life, I say. But hey, if it makes ’em happy.

Now, I heard tell you can even use them tea bags for somethin’ else. You get them dark circles under your eyes, like you ain’t slept in a week? You take them used tea bags, the green ones, and you put ’em on your eyes. Sounds crazy, I know, but folks swear it works. Something about the…caffeine, I think they call it, shrinks them little blood things under your eyes. Makes you look less tired, I guess.

How much of this green tea should you drink?

Well, some folks say you gotta drink a whole bunch of it, like three, four, maybe even five cups a day. That’s a lot of trips to the outhouse, I tell ya. But they say it’s the best way to get all the good stuff outta it. Now, I ain’t sayin’ go drink a whole gallon, too much of anythin’ ain’t good for ya. But a few cups a day, that’s what they say is best.

And get this, they say it can clean out your liver too. That’s the thing inside you that cleans out all the bad stuff, you know, like the filter in your car. Green tea, it helps that liver do its job, keeps everything runnin’ smooth. Especially if you drink it when your belly’s empty, that’s what I heard.

There’s all kinds of green tea out there, too. You got your plain green tea, and then you got fancy stuff with honey in it, makes your skin all soft and smooth, they say. I even seen some green tea creams, for your body. Imagine that! Smearin’ tea all over yourself. But hey, if it works, it works. You can find it in them fancy stores, or even online, on them computery things the young folks use.

I saw this thing at the store the other day, Elizabeth somethin’ somethin’ Green Tea Honey somethin’ somethin’ body cream. Big ol’ jar of it. And sunscreen too! With somethin’ called “factor 15”. Keeps the sun from burnin’ you, I guess. They got all kinds of green tea things now, not just the drinkin’ kind.

And there’s different names too, like Ori-somethin’ and Chap-somethin’. Different kinds of tea, I reckon. You can even get things to help you make the tea, special pots and strainers and whatnot. Folks are makin’ a whole big deal outta this green tea, I tell ya.

But like I said, I ain’t no doctor. I just hear things from folks. But if they say green tea is good for ya, then maybe it is. Can’t hurt to try, right? Just don’t go overboard, a little bit at a time is all you need. And if you start growin’ extra ears or somethin’, don’t come blamin’ me! I’m just tellin’ ya what I heard.

Anyway, that’s the scoop on them green tea bags, as far as I know. You can drink it, you can put it on your eyes, you can rub it on your skin. Seems like you can do just about anythin’ with it. Just don’t try to eat the bag, I don’t think that’s a good idea. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go put the kettle on.
