green tea
Alright, let’s talk about this green tea with mint, you know, the stuff they say is so good for you. I ain’t no fancy doctor or nothin’, but I’ve been around long enough to see a thing or two.
First off, they say it helps you lose weight. Well, I’ve seen folks drink all sorts of things and still be big as a barn, so I don’t know about that. But they say this green tea has got these things called…cat-e-kins, yeah, that’s it. Sounds like somethin’ you’d find in a cat, don’t it? Anyway, they say these cat-e-kins help you burn fat faster.
Now, about that mint. I always liked mint, put it in my tea sometimes for the taste. Makes it smell nice and kinda cools you down on a hot day. They say puttin’ mint with green tea makes it taste better and it’s even healthier for ya, I say why not, more flavor is better than no flavor, right? It’s like killin’ two birds with one stone or however they say it.
But here’s the thing, you gotta be careful. This tea, it’s got that stuff in it, that caff-feen. You know, the stuff that makes you all jittery like a squirrel in a coffee can. And it’s got these other things, tan-nins, they call ‘em. Don’t know what they are, but they say too much ain’t good for ya. Makes your stomach all upset sometimes.
So, can you drink it on an empty stomach? Well, some folks do, I guess. But me, I always like to have a little somethin’ in my belly first. A piece of bread, maybe some oatmeal. Just to keep things settled, you know? Don’t wanna go around with a rumblin’ tummy all day.
I reckon the best way to figure this tea out is to try it for yourself. Start slow, don’t go drinkin’ a whole gallon at once. See how your body feels. If it makes you feel good, keep drinkin’ it. If it makes you feel like somethin’ the cat dragged in, well, then maybe it ain’t for you. It’s like everything else in life, gotta find what works for ya.
Important thing though, don’t go believin’ everything you hear. Just because some fancy magazine or some TV fella says it’s good for ya, don’t mean it is. Use your own common sense. Your body will tell you what it likes and what it don’t. And remember, plain water ain’t so bad either. Keeps you hydrated and it don’t cost an arm and a leg. Sometimes the old ways are the best, ain’t that the truth?
I heard tell that this green tea can keep you young too, well, I haven’t seen anythin’ like that, but I guess anything that’s supposed to make you healthy might just keep you from gettin’ old afore your time. I’m too old for it to matter anyway, but if you youngsters wanna try it out, it ain’t gonna hurt you none. Maybe those cat-e-kins got some magic in ’em, I don’t know.
Anyways, I’ve said my piece. You do what you think is best for you and your body. Just listen to your body and not those big city doctors who ain’t never seen a real field of mint!
