Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this here caffeine free black tea. I ain’t no fancy tea expert, mind you, but I know what I likes and what I don’t. And let me tell ya, this stuff ain’t half bad if you’re lookin’ to avoid that jittery feelin’ from regular tea.
Now, they got all sorts of black teas, see? Some from Africa, places like Kenya and them other countries over there. They say those African teas are real bold, kinda like a strong cup of coffee, but without the coffee, ya know? Then there’s the Indian teas, like that Assam stuff. Those are supposed to be real strong, with lots of that caffeine thingy in ’em. And the English and Irish Breakfast teas, too, same story. But if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ without the kick, you gotta go for the decaf, or what they call “caffeine free.”
I heard tell that decaf tea ain’t exactly the same as caffeine-free tea. Decaf still got a little bit of that caffeine in it, just a tiny bit, like a pinch of salt in a big ol’ pot of stew. But the real caffeine-free stuff, well, that’s got none at all. It’s like water, but, you know, with that tea flavor.
Now, some folks might ask, “Is this decaf stuff just as good for ya as the regular tea?” Well, I ain’t no doctor, but I reckon it’s pretty close. Tea’s got all them fancy things in it, like them anti-somethings, that are supposed to be good for your heart and your head. I figure the decaf still got some of that good stuff, just without the buzz.
I remember my old granny, she used to say, “A cup of tea in the mornin’ sets you right for the whole day.” And she weren’t wrong. But sometimes, that caffeine can make you jumpy, like a cat on a hot tin roof. That’s why I started drinking this caffeine free black tea. Especially in the evenings, if I have regular tea then, I’d be up all night staring at the ceiling. Decaf tea, that’s what they call it. Short for decaffeinated, I guess. Fancy words for no caffeine, if you ask me. But whatever you call it, it’s still tea, and it’s still good.
