Alright, let’s talk about this Tung Ting Oolong tea, or whatever fancy name they call it. I don’t know much about these fancy things, but I can tell you what I know, ya know?

First off, they say this tea comes from some place called Taiwan. Never been there myself, but I hear it’s far away. They also call it “Dong Ding,” sounds like a ding-dong clock to me! And get this, they say it means “Frozen Summit” or “Icy Peak.” Can you believe it? Icy Peak! Sounds cold, but the tea ain’t cold, let me tell ya.

Now, this tea, it ain’t like the regular stuff I drink. It’s got this… this smell, a real nice smell, like flowers or somethin’. They call it “floral aroma.” My neighbor, she grows flowers, and this tea smells kinda like her garden, only better, you know what I mean? It’s not too strong, just right.

  • Smell: Like flowers, real nice.
  • Taste: Changes when you drink it, kinda nutty and flowery at the same time.
  • Look: It’s got these leaves, all curled up, not like them tea bags you get at the store.

They say this Tung Ting tea has a “complex taste.” I don’t know about “complex,” but it does change when you drink it. First, it’s kinda nutty, like them walnuts my grandson likes to crack open. Then, you get that flowery taste again. It’s smooth, too, goes down easy.

And get this, they say this tea can help you with your stomach. If you got a bellyache or somethin’, they say this tea can make it better. They even say it can help you lose weight! Now, I don’t know about all that, but it sure does make me feel good after I drink a cup.

Now, how to make it? It’s not hard, even I can do it. You take a spoonful of them leaves, put ‘em in your cup, and pour hot water over ‘em. Not too much water, mind you, and not too hot neither. They say boilin’ water, but I let it cool down a bit. Then you wait a minute or two, and you got yourself a cup of tea.

Some folks like it strong, some folks like it weak. Me? I like it in the middle. If you want it strong, you put in more leaves, if you want it weak, you put in less. It’s common sense, really.

This tea, it’s a little bit fancy, I ain’t gonna lie. It ain’t the cheap stuff you get at the grocery store. But sometimes, you gotta treat yourself, ya know? And this Tung Ting tea, it’s a good treat. It warms you up on a cold day, makes you feel good, and it tastes darn good too.

So, if you see this Tung Ting Oolong tea, or Dong Ding, or whatever they call it, give it a try. You might like it. It’s a good tea, a real good tea. And that’s all I gotta say about that. Now, where’s my cup? I think I’ll have another one.

Why they call it Tung Ting or Dong Ding? Well, some folks say it’s like this place in Taiwan, one place in the north, Wenshan, and another in the south, Dong Ding. Like two special places for tea. Don’t ask me, I ain’t never been there! But that’s what I heard.

And they say this tea is made the “traditional Taiwanese way.” Whatever that means. I guess they know what they’re doing over there, ’cause this tea is mighty fine.

So there you have it. My two cents on this Tung Ting Oolong tea. It smells good, tastes good, and makes you feel good. What more could you want from a cup of tea?
