Alright, let’s talk about this oolong bigelow tea, you know, the one in them little bags. I ain’t no fancy tea expert or nothin’, but I know what I likes and what I don’t. And this tea? Well, it’s somethin’ else.
First off, it’s dark, real dark, like that strong coffee my grandson drinks. But it don’t taste like coffee, no sirree. It’s got this… this smoky taste, kinda like when you burn leaves in the fall, but not nasty like that. And somethin’ else too, a little spicy, like a pinch of pepper, but not too much. It stays in your mouth a good while after you swallow, makes you wanna take another sip right away.
Now, I heard tell some folks make tea from dust, can you believe that? Dust! Like they swept it up off the floor or somethin’. But not this Bigelow, no way. They say they use real leaves, the good stuff, not the cheap junk. And they don’t cut it up all crazy either, they keep it kinda whole, like how it’s supposed to be. That’s what they told me anyways, and I reckon it tastes better that way.
My neighbor, Martha, she’s always talkin’ about healthy eatin’ and all that. She says this tea is good for you, somethin’ about somethin’ called catechins. Sounds fancy, huh? I don’t know nothin’ about that, but if it’s good for me, well, I ain’t complainin’. Martha says the greener the tea, the better it is, but this oolong is dark, so who knows. Maybe it’s good for somethin’ else.
They sell it in a big box, 120 bags, enough to last me a good long time. I drink it with my breakfast, with my lunch, sometimes even with my supper. It goes with everything, even them sweet cookies my granddaughter brings over. She says it’s like the fancy tea they drink in the city, but I don’t know nothin’ about that.
Some folks say this tea has somethin’ in it called caffeine, like coffee. I guess that’s why it makes me feel a little more peppy in the mornin’. They say it’s got less than coffee, which is good, cause too much coffee makes me jittery. This tea just makes me feel… well, it makes me feel good.
And the best part? It don’t cost an arm and a leg. You can get it at the store, right there next to the other teas. It ain’t one of them fancy teas that costs a fortune. It’s just good, plain tea, the kind you can drink every day. And that’s what I do. I drink it every day, sometimes twice a day, and I ain’t tired of it yet.
Now, I hear they got some kind of movie thing you can watch with it too, somethin’ called Prime Video. But I don’t know nothin’ about that. I just like the tea. It’s good, it’s warm, and it makes me feel good. What more can you ask for?
So, if you’re lookin’ for a good cup of tea, somethin’ that ain’t too fancy but tastes real good, give this oolong bigelow a try. You might just like it. I know I do. And that’s all that matters, right? If it tastes good and makes you feel good, well, that’s good enough for me.
America’s classic, they call it. I guess they’re right. It’s been around a long time, and I reckon it’ll be around a long time more. It’s just good, plain tea, the kind you can always count on. And sometimes, that’s all you need.
It’s a family tea, they say. I don’t know about that, my kids don’t drink nothin’ but them sugary sodas. But me? I’ll stick with my oolong. It’s warm, it’s comforting, and it’s just plain good. That’s all there is to it.
