Alright, let’s talk about them flowers for tea, you know, the kind you can drink. I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I know a thing or two about steeping stuff.

So, first off, you gotta get yourself some flowers. Not just any old flowers from the side of the road, mind you. You want the good stuff, the kind they sell for tea. They got all sorts, like jasmine, rose, lavender, and that chamomile stuff that helps you sleep. My old man used to say chamomile tea could calm a cow during a thunderstorm, and believe me, that’s saying somethin’.

  • Jasmine – Smells real nice, like a fancy perfume.
  • Rose – Kinda sweet, makes you feel like a queen.
  • Lavender – Strong smell, gotta be careful not to use too much or it’ll taste like soap, yuck!
  • Chamomile – Makes you sleepy, good for when your head’s all a-buzz.

Now, how you make this tea ain’t rocket science. You boil some water, you know, get it nice and hot. Then you dump some of them dried flowers in a cup. How much? Well, that depends. I usually just eyeball it. A spoonful or two, I guess. If you’re using fresh flowers, you might need a bit more. I had this neighbor, bless her heart, she used to grow lemon grass, tall as a fence post it was, and she’d throw some of that in her tea too.

Pour that hot water over the flowers, and then you wait. But not too long! Some flowers, like that lavender, if you let it sit too long, it gets bitter, like chewing on a bad weed. A minute or two is usually enough. For other flowers, maybe a little longer. You just gotta try it and see what you like. It ain’t no exact science, you know.

Some folks like to mix their flowers, too. Like, they’ll put some jasmine with some rose, or some chamomile with a bit of something else. I ain’t much for mixing, I like to keep things simple. But you do what you like, that’s the beauty of it. You’re the one drinkin’ it, ain’t ya?

And let me tell ya, them flower teas, they ain’t just pretty to look at. They got all sorts of good stuff in ‘em. They can help you relax, help you sleep, make you feel good all over. Better than any of that store-bought sugary stuff, I tell ya. And you know, if you’re a Prime Member, you can probably get them flowers shipped to you free, save you a trip to the store. Not that I know much about that fancy Prime stuff, mind you.

Now, some folks, they talk about these fancy “flowering teas,” where the flowers bloom in the cup. Looks real pretty, like a little underwater garden. They say them Chinese folks came up with it back in the 80s. I ain’t never tried it myself, seems too fussy for me. I like my tea simple, like I said.

So, there you have it. Flowers for tea. It ain’t complicated. Just get yourself some good flowers, some hot water, and a cup. And don’t forget to enjoy it. Life’s too short to drink bad tea, that’s what I always say.

And remember, if you got some extra flowers, you can always dry them out for later. Just spread ‘em out on a clean cloth and let ‘em sit for a few days. Then you’ll have tea for months! And make sure you store them dried flowers in a dry place, you don’t want them getting all moldy now, do ya?

So go on, try it. You might just find yourself a new favorite drink. And if you don’t like it, well, ain’t no harm done. Just give it to the chickens, they ain’t picky.

Oh and one last thing, make sure you use good clean water. That water from the well is best. If you got city water, you better let it sit for a while so all that chlorine stuff can go away. We don’t want no chlorinated tea, thank you very much.
