Alright, let’s talk about makin’ tea, you know, the way I always do it. Folks make it sound all fancy, but it ain’t rocket science, I tell ya.

First off, you gotta get yourself some water. Now, I ain’t got no fancy thermometers or nothin’. I just fill the kettle with cold water. How much? Well, that depends on how many thirsty mouths you gotta feed. One cup of water for each cup of tea, that’s what I always say. Keep it simple, stupid, that’s my motto.

Then, you get that water boilin’. You’ll hear it whistlin’ and screamin’ like a banshee, that’s when you know it’s ready. Turn off the kettle then, don’t want to burn the house down, you know.

• Water – Get it cold and boil it good.
• Tea – A spoonful for each cup, and a little extra for the pot.
• Pot – Any ol’ pot will do, ain’t gotta be fancy.

Next up, the tea itself. I use loose tea, none of that bagged stuff. Tastes better, I reckon. How much tea? A teaspoon for each cup, and then I throw in an extra spoonful, just for good measure. They say somethin’ about 95 degrees Celsius, but I just use boilin’ water, works every time. Pour that hot water right over the tea leaves, in a pot you know. Any pot will do, don’t need nothin’ special.

Now, this is important. You gotta stir that tea, mix it all up good. I use a spoon, but you can use whatever you got handy. Just make sure you get them tea leaves all wet and swimmin’ around in the hot water. Then you let it sit, let it steep they call it. How long? Well, that depends on how strong you like your tea. I like mine strong, so I let it sit for a good five minutes, maybe more. If you like it weaker, then don’t let it sit so long, easy peasy.

And that’s pretty much it. That’s how I make tea. Ain’t nothin’ to it. You want somethin’ to pep you up? Tea’ll do it. Mornin’, noon, or night, tea’s always right, that’s what my old man used to say, bless his soul. He weren’t a fancy fella neither.

Some folks, they like to add milk and sugar. Me, I take it straight. But you do what you like, it’s your tea after all. Don’t let nobody tell you how to drink your tea, that’s what I say. If you are new to this tea drinking thing, just take it slow. Start weak and make it stronger as you go. You’ll figure it out.

Now, there’s all sorts of tea out there, black tea, green tea, all kinds of fancy names. I stick to what I know, good ol’ black tea. But if you’re feelin’ adventurous, go ahead and try somethin’ new. Life’s too short to drink the same tea every day, I heard that somewhere.

And if you wanna be a tea master or somethin’, well, good for you. But me, I’m happy with my simple way of makin’ tea. It ain’t perfect, but it’s good enough for me and mine. And that’s all that matters, right?
