herbal tea
Well, let me tell ya, what’s the big fuss about this green tea and black tea, huh? It’s all leaves from the same plant, they say. Like them fancy folks call it, Camellia sinensis or somethin’. But lemme tell ya, they ain’t the same, not by a long shot.
One thing’s for sure, them black tea leaves, they get all messed with. They roll ’em up and then let ’em sit out in the air, like they’re tryin’ to dry ’em out or somethin’. That’s what them smarty pants call “oxidized.” Makes ’em turn all dark brown, like dirt after a good rain. Now, the green tea, they leave it alone, mostly. Keeps it nice and green, like a fresh spring day.
Now, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ healthy, that green tea’s your best bet. That fella, Crumble Smith, he said it’s got the most “bang for your buck,” whatever that means. It’s got all them… whatchamacallits… anti-somethin’s… antioxidants, yeah, that’s it! Keeps ya from gettin’ sick, I guess. More than that black tea, anyhow.
And the taste! Oh, Lordy, the taste is different as night and day. That black tea, it’s strong, like a stubborn mule. Some folks say it tastes kinda malty, or somethin’… astringent? I dunno, tastes strong, that’s all I know. Makes your mouth pucker up sometimes. Green tea, now, that’s a whole different story. It’s light, fresh, kinda like cut grass, or maybe some kinda vegetable. Not as strong, but it goes down smooth.
So, what’s the difference, you ask? Well, it’s all in how they treat them leaves, I reckon. Black tea gets all beat up and dried out, makes it strong and dark. Green tea, they leave it be, keeps it light and healthy. And that’s the truth, as far as I can tell.
Some folks, they drink black tea with milk and sugar, makes it sweet and creamy. I ain’t got time for that fancy stuff. Just give me a hot cup, plain and simple. Green tea, I drink it straight too. Don’t need nothin’ fancy, just a good cuppa tea to warm ya up inside.
Now, I ain’t no doctor or nothin’, but I reckon if you want somethin’ healthy, go for the green tea. If you need a kick in the pants, black tea’s your friend. But either way, it’s just tea, nothin’ to get all worked up about. Just a nice warm drink, that’s all.
And don’t let them city folks fool ya with all their fancy words. It’s just leaves and water, ain’t nothin’ more to it than that. Just good ol’ tea, the way God intended it.
So, there ya have it. The difference between green tea and black tea, plain as day, just like I told ya. Now go on and make yourself a cuppa, and stop botherin’ an old woman with all your questions.
And remember, whether it’s green or black, a warm cup of tea can fix just about anything. At least, that’s what my grandma always used to say. And she knew a thing or two, that’s for sure. The best tea is the one you like best. That’s all there is to it.
So go on now, drink your tea and be happy. Life’s too short to worry about fancy things like oxidation and polyphenols. Just enjoy your cuppa and be grateful for the simple things.
