black tea
Well now, let’s talk about this Crystal Light Decaf Lemon Tea Powder stuff, you know, the kind you mix up in a pitcher. I got myself a box here, and it says right on it what’s inside. Don’t you worry, I’ll tell ya all about it, just like I’m gossiping over the fence with ya.
First thing on the list, it says Maltodextrin. Now, I ain’t no chemist, but from what I hear, that’s just a kind of sugar. Makes sense, this stuff is sweet, ain’t it? They put it in lots of things, I reckon. Then there’s Citric Acid. That’s the stuff that makes it taste lemony, you know, like when you squeeze a lemon into your tea. It’s kinda sour, but in a good way, makes ya pucker up a bit.
Next up, it’s got Decaffeinated Instant Tea. That’s the tea part, but without the stuff that keeps ya up all night. I can drink this stuff in the evening and still sleep like a baby, which is more than I can say for some other things! After that, they got Aspartame. That’s another one of them sweet things. They say it ain’t real sugar, but it sure tastes like it. Some folks say it ain’t good for ya, but I ain’t noticed nothin’ bad.
Then there’s Corn Syrup Solids. More sweetness, I guess. They sure do like to make things sweet, don’t they? It also says “Contains less than 2% of Magnesium Oxide”. Now, what in the tarnation is that? I ain’t got a clue, but it can’t be much if it’s less than 2%, right? Probably just some stuff to keep it from clumping up or somethin’.
And look here, Acesulfame Potassium. Another one of them fake sugars. Seems like they put a whole bunch of ‘em in here. Guess that’s why it’s got no real sugar, but still tastes sweet as can be. Then it’s got Natural Flavor. Well, that could be anything, couldn’t it? Probably just more lemon stuff, to make it taste extra lemony.
And last but not least, Artificial Color, and Red 40. That’s the stuff that makes it look pretty, I reckon. Makes it look like real lemon tea, even though it ain’t. I seen some other boxes that have Yellow 5 and Blue 1 too, so they must use different colors sometimes. Makes you wonder what all them colors are made from. It also says sometimes it has Soy Lecithin. I don’t rightly know what that does but there it is, on the box.
So, there you have it, that’s the whole shebang. All the stuff they put in this Crystal Light Decaf Lemon Tea Powder. Now, I don’t know about you, but I think it tastes pretty good, even if I can’t pronounce half the stuff on the list. It’s easy to make, just mix it with some water and ice, and you got yourself a nice cold drink. Perfect for a hot day, or anytime you want something sweet and lemony.
Crystal Light Decaf Lemon Tea Powder is pretty popular, I hear. Folks like it ’cause it ain’t got no sugar and not many calories. They sell it in these little packets, you know, the kind you just rip open and pour into a pitcher. Says right here on the box, each packet makes two quarts. That’s a whole lotta tea, enough to last ya a good while.
Now, some folks might get all worked up about these ingredients, all them long words and whatnot. But I figure, if it tastes good and it don’t make me sick, it can’t be all that bad. I been drinkin’ this stuff for years, and I ain’t sprouted no extra heads or nothin’. So, if you’re lookin’ for a tasty drink that won’t load ya down with sugar, I reckon this Crystal Light Decaf Lemon Tea Powder is worth a try. It ain’t fancy, but it gets the job done, and that’s good enough for me.
So that’s the rundown on what’s in this Crystal Light stuff. It’s a bunch of things, some I know, some I don’t. But it tastes good and that’s what matters, right? You can find this stuff just about anywhere, in them big grocery stores and such. They got all sorts of flavors too, not just lemon. But this here lemon one is my favorite, tastes just like sunshine in a glass.
And remember, this here crystal light decaf lemon tea powder is a good choice if you are watching your sugar, because it has zero grams of sugar. That’s what the box says, anyhow. And for folks counting calories, it only has 5 calories per serving. A pretty light drink if you ask me. You can drink it any time of day, morning, noon, or night.
I like to keep a pitcher of it in the icebox all the time, especially in the summertime. It’s a nice refreshing drink and it sure beats drinking plain old water all day. So go ahead, give it a try. Maybe you will like it too.
