That black sugar milk tea, you know, that drink everyone’s talkin’ about. I heard all the young folks are crazy ’bout it. What’s the big deal? I tell ya, back in my day, we just had regular tea. We didn’t have none of these fancy drinks. But I tried it, just to see what the fuss is all about.

Black sugar milk tea, they call it. Sounds kinda strange, don’t it? But I guess it’s just tea with some milk and sugar in it. The sugar is what makes it different, I reckon. They say it’s black sugar. I don’t know what kind of sugar is black. We always had just plain old white sugar. Black sugar sounds kinda fancy to me.

This milk tea, it’s kinda sweet, I’ll give it that. They put that black sugar in there, and it makes it taste different. It’s not bad, I guess. But it’s not like our good old-fashioned sweet tea, you know? That tea my ma used to make, now that was somethin’ special. I think the milk tea is a bit too sweet for me. I still prefer simple tea with sugar.

They say this black milk tea is the old way, the way they always made it. That is what my granddaughte told me. I don’t know ’bout that. But it’s just regular black tea, like the kind we always had. We never called it “black milk” though. Sounds funny to my ears. Maybe they call it that these days because of the milk they put in it?

They got all kinds of things you can put in this milk tea now. All kinds of flavors and things. I saw some with little balls in the bottom. My granddaughter, she likes those. She calls it “boba”. I tried one once, and I almost choked on it! I don’t know how those young folks drink those things. Too much goin’ on in one drink, I say.

You can get this black sugar milk tea at all kinds of places now. There’s that store, you know, with all the groceries. There are many shops sell it, even that big store with the blue sign. I saw some there the other day, when I was gettin’ my groceries. They had all these drinks lined up, all different colors. It’s a whole new world, I tell ya.

I guess times are changin’. We used to just have our regular tea, and that was it. Now they got all these fancy drinks. This black sugar milk tea, it’s alright, I guess. But it’s nothin’ like a good cup of plain old tea, the way my ma used to make it. That’s what I say. These young folks, they don’t know what they’re missin’. All these fancy new things. I saw some shop that sells only milk tea. And many people are waiting in line.

But I guess if they like it, that’s all that matters. This black sugar thing, it seems to be the thing now. Everyone’s drinkin’ it. I even saw that the store down the street sell this now. When I go to the shop in the town, I see many young people drink it. They seem to like it a lot. I asked my neighbour’s daughter, and she said she drink it every day.

Maybe I’ll try it again sometime. Maybe I’ll get used to it. It is very popular now. Or maybe I’ll just stick to my regular tea. That’s what I’m used to. That’s what I like. But it’s interestin’ to see all these new things. The world is always changin’, that’s for sure. This milk tea is everywhere. I heard they even put it on their bread now. Can you believe that? They put everything on bread. I don’t think I can eat bread like that.

I still think the old way is the best. But these young folks, they like their new things. So, if you see that black sugar milk tea, give it a try. You might like it. Or you might not. But it’s somethin’ different, that’s for sure. You can buy it from many shops, and many flavors are there for you to try. They have all kinds of flavors. And many people sell it in our town now. It is very popular. But for me, I think I’ll just stick with my plain old tea. That black sugar is too sweet for me. I think simple tea is good enough.
