tea set
Okay, so, today I tried out that Japanese sencha green tea. To be honest, I was curious about all the hype, and I wanted to see if it was really that different from the usual green tea I drink.
First off, I went online and looked for some good quality sencha. I mean, there are tons of options out there, but I didn’t want to just grab the first thing I saw. I read through a bunch of product descriptions and reviews and finally settled on one that seemed pretty legit. It had a lot of good ratings, and people were saying how fresh and flavorful it was. Sounded good to me.
So I ordered it, and when it arrived, I was pretty excited to try it. The leaves looked really nice and green, and they had that kind of fresh, grassy smell that you expect from good tea. I boiled some water and followed the instructions on the package for brewing. They said to use water that wasn’t quite boiling, around 175 degrees Fahrenheit, and to steep the tea for about a minute. I made sure to do it just like that.
I poured the tea into my favorite mug and took a sip. Whoa, it was definitely different! It had this smooth, kind of sweet taste with a little bit of a vegetal flavor. It wasn’t bitter at all, which was a nice surprise. I usually have to add a bit of honey to my green tea, but this one was totally fine on its own.
I’ve been drinking it for a few days now, and I have to say, I’m really liking it. It feels really good and makes me a little relaxed, but also kind of focused. It’s like it clears my head, you know? And I’ve read that it’s supposed to be really good for you, with all these antioxidants and stuff.
So, yeah, that’s my experience with Japanese sencha green tea. It’s definitely a step up from regular green tea, and I think I’ll keep drinking it. The taste is great, it’s not hard to make, and it’s supposed to be healthy. What’s not to like? I definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re into tea.
