Hey everyone, it’s your boy here, back with another exciting project that I’ve been working on. Today, I want to share my experience with creating my very own flower tea set. Yeah, you heard that right, a tea set that’s not just for drinking but also a feast for the eyes. Let’s get down to it!
So, it all started when I was browsing online and stumbled upon these beautiful, handcrafted tea sets. Some of them were super fancy, with all these intricate designs and stuff. I thought, “Man, I wish I could have one of those, but they’re probably gonna cost me an arm and a leg.” Then it hit me, why not try making one myself? I mean, how hard could it be, right?
First things first, I needed to gather all the materials. I did some more digging online, reading about what kind of teacups are the best. Turns out, you want to go for non-porous cups. They don’t hold onto flavors and aromas, so your tea tastes just like it should. Also, it’s better to get cups that are tall and have a narrow rim. These keep your tea hot for longer and concentrate the fragrance. I found a local shop that sold plain, white ceramic teacups and saucers that fit the bill. They were simple, but that’s what I wanted. A blank canvas, you know?
Next up, I had to decide on the design. I wanted something unique, something that screams “me.” After scrolling through endless pictures of flower tea sets, I decided to go with a floral theme. But not just any flowers, I picked out some of my favorites – chrysanthemum, jasmine, and a few others. I also grabbed a teapot and a milk jug from the same shop. Now, for the fun part – decorating!
I bought some non-toxic, food-safe paints and some fine-tipped brushes. Then, with a deep breath, I started painting. I sketched out the flowers lightly with a pencil first, and then carefully filled them in with color. It was kinda therapeutic, to be honest. I spent a good few hours just painting away, and I have to say, I was pretty proud of the result. The flowers looked vibrant and lively, just like I imagined.
After the paint dried, I applied a sealant to make sure the designs wouldn’t come off. And there you have it, my very own, custom-made flower tea set. The whole process was way more rewarding than just buying a set off the shelf. Plus, I saved a ton of money! There was a sale going on in the store, 15% off for 50 dollars and 20% off for 75 dollars. I got a 20% discount since I bought a bunch of stuff. Not bad, huh?
Now, every time I have tea, it’s like a mini celebration. It feels good to drink from something you’ve created with your own hands. And my friends? They’re super impressed. Some of them even asked me to make sets for them. Who knows, maybe I’ll start a little side hustle. What do you guys think? I’ve been thinking of maybe using globe amaranth, lily, hibiscus, and osmanthus next time, since I’ve heard those are also great for flowering teas.
Anyway, that’s my flower tea set story. Hope you guys enjoyed it. If you’re feeling crafty, I highly recommend giving this a try. It’s a great way to express your creativity and have something beautiful and functional at the end. Catch you all in the next post!
