mhw oolong armor

white tea | January 6th, 2025

Okay, so, I’ve been grinding in Monster Hunter World, you know, like you do. And I really wanted to get my hands on that Oolong armor set. It’s got a cool look, and I heard it’s pretty good for early Master Rank stuff. So, I started looking into it, trying to figure out what I needed to do.

First off, I had to find out where to even get the materials. Turns out, it’s all about these special tickets. You gotta do Master Rank quests to get them. No big surprise there, right? You can also get them if you help out lower-rank players, which is kinda cool. It’s like an incentive to be a good helper, I guess.

  • Master Rank quests – that’s where those tickets are at.
  • Helping lower-rank players is another way to get the goods.

But here’s the thing, it’s totally random. You do a quest, you might get a ticket, you might not. It’s all luck. I did a bunch of quests, and I mean a bunch. Sometimes I’d get a ticket, most times I wouldn’t. It was a bit of a drag, honestly. But I kept at it, cause, you know, gotta get that armor.

I also found out that if you actually wear the Oolong armor, it can increase your chances of getting more tickets. That’s a neat little trick. I didn’t have the full set yet, but I crafted what I could, I crafted the head and leg pieces first because someone told me they’re good for early game. I wore those pieces whenever I could.

After a while, I finally had enough tickets to craft the whole set. All five pieces. Boom! The Oolong Alpha+ set was mine. It felt pretty good, I gotta say. All that grinding finally paid off. It’s not the strongest armor in the game, by any means, but it was a good step up from what I had before.

Then, I discovered there’s a layered version of the armor. Layered armor is basically just for looks, it doesn’t change your stats, it’s just cosmetic. But hey, looking cool is half the battle, right? So, I went through the same grind again, collecting those tickets, to craft the layered version of the set.

From Zero to Hero: My Oolong Armor Set Journey

Now, I’m rocking the full Oolong layered set, and it feels awesome. It wasn’t easy, took a lot of quests and a whole lot of luck, but I got there in the end. It wasn’t just about the armor, though. I learned a lot along the way. Like, how to be more efficient with my quests, how to help out other players, and, most importantly, how to never give up, even when the grind gets tough. And that, my friends, is way more valuable than any armor set.

Next time I will get Xeno’jiiva Armor because I heard it has the highest defense, wish me luck.
