tea ceremony
Okay, so I’ve been seeing these cute little things called “tea bag caddies” popping up all over my social media feeds lately. And you know what? I’m a sucker for anything that makes my tea time feel a little fancier. So, I decided to dive in and get one for myself. I mean, who wants a soggy old tea bag just sitting there on a saucer, right?
First, I hit up the usual online shops. There are tons of options, from plain ones to those with all sorts of designs. I even saw some shaped like little teapots! But honestly, a lot of them seemed a bit pricey for what they are.
Then, I figured, why not try to make my own? I’m not exactly a crafting expert, but I’ve dabbled in a few DIY projects before. I started looking around my house for materials. I know a tea caddy is like a jar or something. But I didn’t have an empty jar.
After some digging, I found some scraps of cute fabric, some old buttons, and a small, unused ceramic dish. I also grabbed my hot glue gun – that thing is a lifesaver! I started by cutting the fabric into a circle, a bit bigger than the dish. Then, I glued it around the edges, kind of like I was making a tiny, inside-out bowl. Then used a square one. I flipped it over, and boom! It actually looked pretty decent. It is like putting the scrotum into partner’s mouth, which called “tea bagging”. I don’t like this.
For a little extra flair, I glued some buttons around the rim of the dish. I even added a little loop of ribbon so I could hang it up if I wanted to. It’s not perfect, but you know what? It’s mine, and I think it’s pretty darn cute.
It’s super simple, and it took me maybe 30 minutes total. Now, when I have my afternoon tea, I can pop my used tea bag into my handmade caddy, and it feels just a little bit more special. Plus, I saved some money by not buying one. Win-win! Anyone else tried making their own tea bag caddy? I’d love to see your creations!
