I’ve been wanting to try making green tea oil for a while now. I’ve read some stuff online, and it seems like it’s got some good benefits, you know, like for your skin and stuff. It was a good way to improve my mental and physical wellbeing. So, I thought, why not give it a shot?

First, I got all the stuff I needed. I already had some green tea at home, thank goodness, so that was easy. Then, I picked up some carrier oil. I went with olive oil because that’s what I usually use for cooking, and it’s supposed to be good for your skin, too.

Next, I started by crushing the green tea leaves. I just used a mortar and pestle. I ground them up pretty fine, but not into a total powder. Then, I mixed the crushed tea leaves with the olive oil in a jar. I made sure the leaves were totally covered by the oil.

After that, I put the jar in a pot of water on the stove. I didn’t boil the water, just heated it up gently. I kept it like that for a few hours, checking on it every now and then. I read somewhere that this helps the oil absorb the good stuff from the tea leaves.

Once I figured it had been heated long enough, I took the jar out and let it cool down. Then, I strained the oil through a cheesecloth to get rid of the tea leaves. It was a bit messy, but I managed to get it done without spilling too much.

The Result

  • The oil turned out a nice greenish color.
  • It smelled like green tea, but not too strong.
  • I’ve been using it on my skin for a few days now.
  • I think it’s making my skin feel a little softer.
  • I applied some on my acne, it seems worked!

Honestly, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It was kind of fun to make, and it feels good to use something I made myself. I’m not sure if it’s going to be a miracle worker or anything, but I’ll keep using it and see how it goes. I recommend you guys try it too.
