tea tree oil shower gel

Okay, so I’ve been messing around with some DIY stuff lately, and I wanted to share this little project I did with tea tree oil.

I saw a bunch of ads for body wash and shower gel at Target and some other stores, and it got me thinking, “Why not make my own?” Plus, I kept seeing “tea tree shower gel” and “tea tree oil shower gel” popping up everywhere, so I figured it must be popular for a reason.

I had some tea tree oil at home that I used for treating a boil once – worked like a charm, by the way. I remembered reading somewhere that tea tree oil is good at killing germs. So, I got this idea to make my own tea tree oil shower gel.

I started by grabbing some basic stuff I already had. I used a simple, unscented liquid soap as the base. Nothing fancy, just something that wouldn’t irritate my skin.

  • Base: Unscented liquid soap
  • Key Ingredient: Tea tree oil
  • Extras: Aloe vera gel, vitamin E oil (I had these around)

The process was pretty straightforward. Here’s what I did:

First, I poured about a cup of the unscented liquid soap into a clean bottle. I think any bottle will do, but I found one with a pump, which is super convenient.

Next, I added the tea tree oil. I used about 10-15 drops. I didn’t want it to be too overpowering, but enough to get the benefits. You can adjust this based on your preference, but be careful, this stuff is potent!

Since I had some aloe vera gel and vitamin E oil on hand, I decided to throw those in too. I’d seen some products with those ingredients, and they’re supposed to be good for the skin. I added a couple of tablespoons of aloe vera gel and a few drops of vitamin E oil. It felt good.

Then, I gave the bottle a good shake to mix everything up. Make sure the lid is on tight, or you’ll have a mess on your hands!

Testing It Out

I used my homemade tea tree oil shower gel for a few days to see how it went. Honestly, I was pretty impressed. My skin felt clean and refreshed, and I didn’t have any irritation. The tea tree oil gave it a nice, invigorating scent, too.

I even tried using it on my face, and it seemed to help with some minor breakouts I had. I’m not saying it’s a miracle cure, but it definitely seemed to make a difference.

So, there you have it – my little DIY tea tree oil shower gel experiment. It was super easy to make, and I’m happy with the results. If you’re looking for a simple, natural body wash, give it a try! You might be surprised at how well it works.

Feel free to experiment with different ingredients and amounts to find what works best for you. Just remember to do a patch test first if you have sensitive skin, and don’t go overboard with the tea tree oil. A little goes a long way! I love it.
