white tea
Okay, so I’ve been trying to get this “green tea surfside” thing down, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I saw this drink online, and it looked so refreshing and fancy, I just had to try and make it myself.
First off, I had to figure out what the heck was even in this thing. It looked like regular green tea, but with some extra stuff. I did some digging, and finally found some recipes to help me understand. It’s basically green tea with lemonade, and some say peach syrup. Sounded simple enough, right?
I went and brewed some green tea. I just used the regular tea bags I had at home. Nothing fancy. While that was steeping, I squeezed some fresh lemons ’cause I wanted that real lemonade flavor. It took a few lemons, and my hands got all sticky, but it was worth it. I mixed sugar in it until it tasted just right. Sweet and sour. It has to be balanced.
Then came the tricky part. Finding peach syrup. I went to two different stores, and asked the staff about it, and finally found it at the third one. Score! I was so pumped.
Once the tea cooled down a bit, I mixed everything together in a big pitcher. I added the lemonade, a few splashes of that peach syrup, and some ice. Gave it a good stir, and then took a sip.
It was… pretty good! It wasn’t exactly like the picture I saw, but it was refreshing and tasty. I think I put a bit too much peach syrup, though. Next time, I’ll go easier on that. I tried it without the peach syrup as well and that still tasted pretty good.
So, yeah, that’s my “green tea surfside” adventure. It was fun experimenting and trying to recreate this drink. I definitely learned a few things along the way. If you’re looking for a summery drink, give it a try! Just maybe go easy on the peach syrup, unless you really like it sweet.
