Okay, so, I went to Trader Joe’s the other day, and you know how it is – you walk in for one thing and come out with a cart full of stuff you never knew you needed. That’s how I stumbled upon this Trader Joe’s White Tea Pomegranate.

I’m a big tea drinker, mostly green tea, but I’m trying to cut back on caffeine a bit. I saw this box, thought, “Why not?” and tossed it in my basket. The box claimed it’s a caffeine-free option, which got my attention. To be honest, I’ve seen other “Pomegranate White Tea” options, but this one seemed different, and I was so curious to try it.

First thing I did when I got home was boil some water, obviously. While the water was heating up, I took a closer look at the packaging. Nice and simple, nothing too fancy. When the water’s ready, I grabbed a mug, popped a tea bag in, and poured the hot water over it. I let it steep for a good few minutes, maybe 5 or 6? I’m not sure of the exact time, but I wanted to make sure I got all that pomegranate goodness.

The smell was the first thing that hit me. It’s fruity, but not like a punch in the face. It’s more subtle, kind of sweet and refreshing. I took a sip, and oh boy, it’s different. It does not taste like green tea at all. It’s light, a little tart, and definitely has that pomegranate flavor, but it’s not overpowering.

• Taste:

  Fruity and refreshing, not too sweet, and has a nice, subtle pomegranate flavor.

• Caffeine:

  This is the big thing for me. It’s completely caffeine-free, which is awesome for an evening cup. Normally, I can not drink too much caffeine, which bothers me a lot. But with this one, I do not need to worry about that at all. According to the box, it is “100% caffeine-free.”

• Overall:

  I’m really glad I picked this up. It’s a nice change from my usual tea routine, and I can see myself drinking this regularly. I also searched online, which says the caffeine content in white tea can be as low as 12 mg and as high as 58 mg. So, the caffeine-free claim makes me feel comfortable drinking it.

So yeah, that’s my little adventure with Trader Joe’s White Tea Pomegranate. It is a nice try. If you’re looking for a tasty, caffeine-free tea, I’d say give it a shot. You might just find your new favorite!
