- white tea and ginger fragrance
Okay, so I’ve been wanting to mess around with making my own scented stuff for a while now, and I finally took the plunge. I decided to start with something that sounded pretty chill and relaxing: white tea and ginger. Sounds nice, right?
First, I went online to look for the fragrance oil. I found a couple of options, and ended up grabbing one that mentioned something about “herbal harmony” and a mix of “spicy citrus” and “soft, green herbal notes.” That sounded about right, so I ordered it.
The package arrived a few days later, and man, the smell hit me as soon as I opened it. It was definitely strong! I’m not gonna lie, it was a little overwhelming at first, but in a good way, you know? Like walking into a fancy spa.
Now, I didn’t really have a plan. I just wanted to try a few things out. First, I put a few drops into my diffuser. It filled my whole living room with this amazing scent. It was a bit strong at first, maybe I used too many drops, but once it mellowed out, it was super relaxing. I could definitely pick up on the white tea and the ginger, but there were other scents in there too, like a hint of citrus and some other flowery stuff I couldn’t quite put my finger on.
Next, I thought, why not try making a candle? I had some old wax lying around, so I melted it down, added a good amount of the fragrance oil, and poured it into a jar with a wick. This was a bit trickier. I think I might’ve added a bit too much oil this time. The candle smelled great when it was cold, but when I lit it, the scent was a little too intense, even for me who was already used to the strong smell.
So, after a day of smelling like a walking teahouse, here’s what I figured out:
All in all, it was a fun little experiment. I’m definitely going to keep playing around with this. Maybe next time I’ll try making some soap or lotion. If anyone’s got any tips or recipes, let me know!
