white tea
Today, I decided to make an oolong tea cafe. I’ve been seeing these aesthetic-looking drinks all over social media, and I thought, “Why not give it a try?” Plus, I’ve got a bunch of oolong tea bags sitting in my cupboard that I really need to use up.
First things first, I gathered all the ingredients. This included:
Got everything on my kitchen counter, looking all organized, and then I brewed the tea. I just boiled some water and steeped two tea bags in a big mug. The instructions on the tea box said to steep for 3-5 minutes, but I left it in for like 7 minutes because I wanted a strong flavor. My place quickly started smelling like a tea shop. While the tea was steeping, I got out a tall glass and filled it with ice. I almost dropped the whole bag of ice on the floor – that would’ve been a disaster!
Once the tea was strong enough, I took out the tea bags and added a couple of spoonfuls of sugar. Stirred it around until the sugar dissolved. Then, I poured the sweet tea over the ice. It made that satisfying cracking sound as the hot tea hit the cold ice. After that, I topped it off with a generous splash of milk. I stirred the whole thing gently with a long spoon, watching the milk swirl into the tea, creating a pretty cool gradient effect.
Finally, I took a sip. It was pretty good! I think I added a tad too much sugar, but it was still refreshing. It’s like a milk tea, but with that distinct oolong flavor.
Making this oolong tea cafe was way easier than I expected. I recommend trying it if you’re bored with your usual drinks. It’s a good way to use up leftover tea bags too. Next time, I might try adding some boba or maybe even some fruit. We’ll see! I might even try a different type of milk next time. Overall, a fun little kitchen experiment!
