Okay, so today I wanted to try making some green tea bubble tea. I’ve seen it all over the place and it looked pretty refreshing, so I figured, why not give it a shot?
First off, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I already had some green tea bags at home. For the bubbles, I just went with the regular black tapioca pearls that they sell at the Asian market near me. I also needed some milk, sugar, and ice of course.
I boiled some water and steeped a couple of green tea bags in it for about 5 minutes. I like my tea pretty strong, so I might have left them in a bit longer than usual. After it steeped, I took out the tea bags and stirred in some sugar while it was still hot. Then I set it aside to cool down.
While the tea was cooling, I got started on the tapioca pearls. I just followed the instructions on the package, which basically involved boiling them in water for a while. They took about 20-25 minutes to cook until they were soft and chewy.
Once the tea was completely cool and the pearls were ready, it was time to put it all together. I filled a tall glass with ice, then added a generous amount of the cooked tapioca pearls at the bottom. Then I poured in the cooled green tea, leaving a little room at the top. Finally, I topped it off with a splash of milk.
I gave it a good stir with a big straw and took a sip. Not bad! The green tea flavor was nice and strong, and the pearls were perfectly chewy. It was definitely a refreshing drink, especially on a hot day. I think next time, I might try adding a little bit of honey instead of sugar for a different kind of sweetness. Overall, it was a pretty successful experiment!
If you are a bubble tea lover, you gotta try it at home. It is super easy and fun to make. Trust me!
