organic tea
Okay, so the other day I was craving something refreshing, and I remembered this drink I saw online called “Green Tea Hawaii.” Sounded exotic, looked pretty, so I thought, why not give it a shot?
First, I gathered all the stuff I needed. This is where my memory got a bit fuzzy, ’cause I didn’t write down the exact recipe. But no worries, I figured I could wing it. I grabbed some green tea bags, a can of pineapple chunks (in juice, not syrup), a lime, some honey, and a bunch of ice.
I started by brewing the green tea. I just boiled some water, tossed in a couple of tea bags, and let them steep for, like, 5 minutes? I like my tea strong, so maybe I left them in a bit longer. While the tea was doing its thing, I dumped the pineapple chunks and some of the juice into my blender. I squeezed in the juice of half a lime, because, you know, gotta have that citrusy kick. Then I added a good squirt of honey – gotta balance out the tartness, right?
Next, I waited for the tea to cool down. This was the hardest part because I was getting thirsty! I might’ve stuck it in the fridge for a few minutes to speed things up. Once it wasn’t scorching hot, I poured it into the blender with the pineapple mix. Then came the fun part – I added a ton of ice and blended everything until it was all slushy and delicious looking. It made a lot of noise but it is worth it!
I poured the mixture into a tall glass, and yeah, it looked pretty darn close to the picture I saw. I even stuck a little pineapple wedge on the rim to make it look fancy. And guess what? It tasted amazing! It was sweet, tangy, and super refreshing.
It is so easy to make and I think I might even try adding some other fruits next time, maybe some mango or strawberries. I will make it again!
