Poltchageist Tea Set Unboxing: See Whats Inside the Box (Is It Scary?)

tea ceremony | February 2nd, 2025

Okay, so, I saw this thing online about a “poltchageist tea set” and thought, “What the heck is that?” It sounded kinda cool and maybe a little spooky, so I decided to give it a shot. I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into, but hey, life’s about trying new things, right?

First off, I had to figure out what this whole poltchageist thing even was. Turns out, it’s based on some Pokémon, which I’m not super familiar with, but it’s basically about a ghost that lives in a teacup. Cute and creepy, I guess? Anyway, there are two forms of this thing, and apparently, there’s a “counterfeit” version and an “authentic” version. I went with the authentic one because, well, why not?

So, I went online and ordered the whole set. It wasn’t cheap, I’ll tell you that much. But I was committed at this point. When it finally arrived, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I unboxed everything and, man, it looked pretty neat. There was a teapot, a couple of teacups, and some other stuff. All of it had this cool, antique-ish vibe. It was giving haunted, but in a chic way.

Now, here’s where things got interesting. I decided to actually make some tea with this set. I mean, that’s what it’s for, right? I boiled some water, steeped the tea leaves—just some regular black tea, nothing fancy—and poured it into the poltchageist teapot. I gotta say, pouring tea from a potentially haunted teapot is a unique experience.

  • First sip: Felt weird. Maybe it was just in my head, but the tea tasted…different.
  • Second sip: Okay, now I’m just being paranoid. It’s just tea.
  • Third sip: You know what? It’s actually pretty good tea.

My Final Thoughts?

After I finished my little tea party, I cleaned everything up and put the set on display in my living room. It’s a conversation starter, that’s for sure. Did I feel any ghostly presence? Nah, not really. Was it a fun, albeit expensive, experience? Absolutely. Would I do it again? Probably not. But hey, at least I can say I had tea with a “ghost,” right? It’s a good story to tell at parties, even if it’s just to make people think I’m a little weird. And who knows, maybe one day that teapot will actually come to life. A guy can dream, can’t he?
