Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with Alice in Wonderland lately, and I decided I needed a themed tea set. Not just any tea set, mind you, a proper, whimsical, slightly-mad one. So, I went on a little adventure of my own to make this happen.

First, I scoured the internet. I mean, I went deep down the rabbit hole, looking at all sorts of options. I saw so many different styles – some were too plain, some were too cartoonish, and some were just…ugly.

Then, I started thinking about maybe getting individual pieces and putting them together myself. That way, I could have total control, right? I figured I could find a teapot that looked like the Mad Hatter’s hat, some mismatched cups, and maybe even those little “Drink Me” bottles.

Finding the Pieces

• The Teapot: I spent hours looking. I wanted something unique, with a lot of character. Finally, I found one that was a bit wonky-shaped and had a quirky floral pattern. It wasn’t exactly the Mad Hatter’s hat, but it had the right vibe.
• The Cups: This was easier. I decided to go for a mix-and-match approach. I found a few vintage teacups at a local thrift store. They’re all different colors and patterns, but they somehow work together.
• The “Drink Me” Bottles: I actually ended up making these myself! I bought some small, clear glass bottles and some cute little tags. I printed out “Drink Me” in a fancy font, tied them to the bottles with some ribbon, and boom! Instant Wonderland vibes.
• Spoons and other bits and pieces: I found some cute teaspoons with little charms, and i have some old plates that is quite match to this style.

Putting It All Together

I laid everything out on my table – the teapot, the mismatched cups, the “Drink Me” bottles, and some little spoons I’d found. And you know what? It looked amazing! It was exactly the kind of whimsical, slightly-mad tea set I’d been dreaming of.

I brewed a pot of tea, invited a friend over, and we had a proper Alice in Wonderland tea party. It was so much fun, and the tea set really made it special. I’m totally in love with it, and it just goes to show that sometimes, the best things are the ones you put together yourself.
