white tea
Today, I stumbled upon this drink called AriZona Green Tea. I’ve seen it around, you know, those tall cans with the pretty cherry blossoms. I figured, “Why not give it a try?” So, I picked one up from the store. It was cheap, like, surprisingly cheap. I mean, who sells a big can of tea for that price these days?
I took it home, and chilled it in the fridge for a bit. Once it was nice and cold, I popped the top. First impression, it smelled sweet, but not like, sickly sweet. More like a gentle, honey-ish kind of sweet.
Then came the taste test. I took a big gulp, and honestly, it was pretty good! It’s definitely sweeter than the green tea I usually brew at home. It tasted like they added a good amount of sugar or maybe honey, not sure, but it wasn’t overwhelming. The green tea flavor was there, but it was mild, not bitter at all.
I found myself drinking the whole can pretty quickly. It was refreshing, especially on a warm day like today. Later, I got curious and looked up the company. Turns out, AriZona’s been around since the 90s, and they’re based in New York, competing with Snapple. Interesting, huh?
Then I checked the nutrition label. It said there is 7.5 mg of caffeine per 8-oz. I guess that’s why they also sell a white tea version with lower caffeine, which is 6mg per 8-oz. And their cappuccino shakes have 40-60mg caffeine. That’s way more. They even have a decaffeinated red tea version. Good to know.
Overall, I’d say AriZona Green Tea is a decent drink for the price. It’s sweet, refreshing, and has a mild green tea flavor. I can see why it’s popular.
Would I buy it again? Maybe. It’s not something I’d drink every day, but for a once-in-a-while treat, it’s not bad.
