Automatic Tea Set Guide: Everything You Need to Know Before Buying!

Hey everyone, I want to share my latest project – an automatic tea set. It all started when I realized how much I love tea, but hated the whole process of making it. Waiting for the water to boil, steeping the tea for just the right amount of time, it’s all just too much effort sometimes, especially in the morning rush.

So I thought, why not automate it? I’m no engineer, but I’m pretty handy and I love a good DIY challenge. I started by gathering some stuff I had lying around. An old electric kettle, some spare tubing, a small water pump from an old fish tank, and a timer I got for cheap at a hardware store.

The first step was figuring out how to get the water from the kettle to the teapot automatically. I rigged up the water pump to the kettle’s spout using some tubing and a lot of duct tape. It wasn’t pretty, but it worked! I made sure the pump could handle the heat, though, cause no one wants melted plastic in their tea, right?

Here’s how I tackled the timing part:

  • First, I connected the timer to the kettle, so it would turn off automatically after boiling.
  • Then, I had to figure out how to get the pump to start after the water boiled.
  • I ended up using a second timer to delay the pump’s start time, giving the water time to boil before it got pumped into the teapot.

Next up was the tea itself. I found a small container with a lid and drilled a hole in it. I connected another tube from the container to the teapot. The idea was to have the tea leaves in the container, and when the water flowed through, it would carry the leaves into the teapot. It kinda worked, but sometimes the leaves would get stuck. So, I ended up just putting the leaves directly into the teapot, which honestly was way simpler.

After a lot of trial and error, and a few minor water spills, I finally got it working! Now, I just fill the kettle with water, put the tea leaves in the teapot, set the timers, and go about my morning. By the time I’m ready, there’s a perfectly brewed pot of tea waiting for me. It’s not perfect, and it definitely looks a bit crazy with all the tubes and timers, but it’s my own little invention, and it makes my mornings so much better.

It’s not something you’d see in a store, and it might not be the most efficient way to make tea, but I’m proud of it. It’s a testament to what you can do with a little bit of creativity and a lot of determination. Plus, it’s a great conversation starter when people come over. They always ask about my crazy tea contraption, and I love telling them the story of how it came to be.
