Well, let me tell ya ’bout these here Aynsley tea sets. I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I know a thing or two ’bout what’s good and what ain’t.
First off, these Aynsley things, they ain’t just any old cups and saucers, y’know? They’re made of somethin’ called fine bone china. Sounds fancy, huh? I reckon it is. Folks say it’s real strong and thin, like, but I ain’t tried droppin’ one to see if it breaks, no sir! Don’t wanna go breakin’ somethin’ that costs a pretty penny.
Now, where did these Aynsley folks come from? Seems like a fella named John Aynsley started it all way back in 1775, over in a place called Lane End, Longton, Staffordshire. Never been there myself, but I heard it’s a place where they make lots of this here china stuff. Then, his grandson, also named John, built a big ol’ factory called Portland Works in 1861. That’s a long time ago, ain’t it? Guess they been makin’ these tea sets for a good while now.
I seen some of them Aynsley tea sets, and let me tell ya, some of ’em are right purdy. They got all sorts of flowers and patterns on ’em. Roses, I think they call ’em. And they come in all sorts of colors, too. Pink, blue, yellow, you name it. Some of ’em even got gold on ’em! Real shiny stuff, that gold.
Now, I heard tell that some of these Aynsley tea sets are worth a whole heap of money. Especially the old ones, and the ones that ain’t got many made. Folks collect ’em, like they collect stamps or coins or somethin’. I guess if you got a real rare one, you could sell it and get yourself a new truck or somethin’. But me, I wouldn’t sell it. I’d keep it and use it for special occasions. Like when the preacher comes over for tea, or when the grandkids visit.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a nice tea set, and you got a bit of money to spend, you might wanna check out these Aynsley ones. They’re real purdy, and they last a long time, if you take care of ’em. Just don’t go droppin’ ’em, like I said. And don’t let the kids play with ’em neither. They ain’t toys, y’know. They’re for fancy tea parties and such.
Anyways, that’s all I know ’bout Aynsley tea sets. Like I said, I ain’t no expert, but I know what I like. And I like these here Aynsley things. They’re real nice, they are. And that’s the truth.
You can even get ’em custom made, or find some old ones that nobody else has. That’s what makes ’em special, I reckon. Not just somethin’ you buy at the store, but somethin’ with a bit of history and character.
So, next time you’re lookin’ for a gift for someone special, or just want to treat yourself, think about gettin’ an Aynsley tea set. You won’t be disappointed. And if you do get one, invite me over for tea, ya hear?
