Best Black Tea Mask for Face: Top Picks & How to Use

Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot about using black tea for, like, everything lately. And I thought, “Why not try it on my face?” I mean, I drink it all the time, so it can’t be that bad, right?

My DIY Black Tea Face Mask Experiment

First, I brewed a really strong cup of black tea. I just used a couple of regular tea bags – nothing fancy. I let it steep for a good 15 minutes, until it was super dark and, honestly, kind of bitter smelling.

Then, I waited for it to cool down completely. I definitely didn’t want to burn my face off. While I was waiting, I washed my face with my usual cleanser, just to get all the makeup and dirt off.

Once the tea was cool, I soaked a few cotton pads in it. You could probably use a washcloth too, but I figured cotton pads would be easier to handle.

I applied it on the cotton pads on my face, it will be all the key area, for example, my forehead, my cheeks, and my chin. I made sure to avoid my eyes, though.

I laid back and relaxed for about 20 minutes. Honestly, it felt pretty good! It was kind of cooling and refreshing. I might have even dozed off for a few minutes. Don’t use your phone and take good rest.

After the 20 minutes were up, I removed the cotton pads and rinsed my face with cool water. I patted my skin dry with a soft towel.

The Result

My skin felt, softer, and maybe a little bit tighter? It wasn’t a huge, dramatic difference, but it definitely felt something. I don’t know if it actually did anything for wrinkles or anything, but it was a nice little self-care moment. My face looked brighter. I will try more frequece and add this to my daily routine!

Would I do it again? Yeah, probably! It was easy, cheap, and felt pretty good. Plus, I got to drink the leftover tea, so, win-win!
