Okay, so I’ve been on a real tea kick lately, and oolong is my jam. I decided to find the best organic oolong, and, oh boy, did I go down a rabbit hole!

My Oolong Tea Adventure Begins

First, I hit up my local tea shops. You know, the kind with tons of those little tins and the super knowledgeable staff. I explained I wanted organic, and they showed me a few options. I sniffed them all – that’s important, right? – and grabbed a couple that smelled promising.

Then, because I’m extra, I went online. I read a bunch of reviews, checked out some tea blogs (yep, those exist!), and compared prices. I ended up ordering a few more from different online stores. I mean, you gotta have options, you know?

The Tasting Begins!

Once I had all my teas, it was tasting time. I made sure to use the same water, the same temperature, and the same brewing time for each one. I’m not a pro, but I wanted to be fair, haha. I don’t have any fancy tea equipment at home, just use some regular tools I have in my kitchen.

• I first boiled the filtered water.
• I then preheated my teapot, which is just a regular ceramic one, nothing fancy.
• I then added tea leaves to the teapot, usally about a teaspoon per cup.
• Carefully, I poured the hot water over the leaves.
• Set timer! I steeped that for a set amount of time, usually between 3-5 minutes.
• Finally, I poured the tea into my cup through a strainer and took that first sip!

I jotted down notes on each one: the color, the smell, the taste, and how it made me feel. Some were light and floral, others were darker and more roasted. Some were kinda…meh. It was really interesting to see how different they all were!

The Results?

After all that tasting, I definitely found some favorites. And you know what? The most expensive one wasn’t necessarily the best! It really comes down to personal preference. But hey, that’s the fun of trying new things, right? It’s all about what you enjoy. Now go find the ones you like to drink.
