Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this Bigelow black tea. I ain’t no fancy tea expert or nothin’, but I know what I likes, and this here tea, well, it’s alright.

First off, they got a whole bunch of different kinds. You got your plain ol’ black tea, like that English Breakfast one. That’s good for when you just want a regular cup, you know? Nothin’ fancy, just tea. They say it’s “smooth and classic”. I guess it is. It tastes like…tea. They come in them little bags, lots of ’em in a box. Handy, I reckon.

Then you got them fancy ones, with all sorts of flavors. Mint, lemon, that “Constant Comment” stuff, Earl Grey, even vanilla somethin’-or-other. I tried some of that mint one time, it was kinda like drinkin’ tea and eatin’ a peppermint candy at the same time. Not my cup of tea, so to speak, but some folks like it. My neighbor, Martha, she loves that lemon one. Says it’s “refreshing”. I just think it tastes like soap, but to each their own, I always say.

Now, they say this tea is “premium” and all that. I don’t know about all that fancy talk. But I can tell you this, it ain’t like that dusty stuff some folks sell. You know, the kind that looks like it’s been swept off the floor. This Bigelow tea, it looks like real tea leaves, all dried up and crinkly. And it tastes clean, if that makes any sense.

They also say this tea is good for you. “Gluten-free, calorie-free” they say. Well, I ain’t never seen a tea with gluten in it, and water don’t got no calories neither. But I guess it makes folks feel better to hear that. Me, I just like a warm cup in the mornin’, gets me goin’. And in the afternoon, when my feet are tired and my back is achin’, a cup of tea just hits the spot.

One thing I learned, and this surprised me, is that even that decaf stuff still has some of that “caffeine” in it. I always thought decaf meant no caffeine, but I guess not. It still keeps me up a bit if I drink it too late.

  • They got lots of different flavors
  • The tea bags are all wrapped up nice
  • It ain’t that dusty cheap stuff
  • It’s warm and it tastes like tea

This Bigelow company, they been around a while, I heard. Started by some woman back in the day. Good for her, I say. A woman makin’ somethin’ of herself. That’s somethin’ to be proud of. I don’t know her, never met her, but I reckon she knew how to make a decent cup of tea.

So, if you’re lookin’ for some tea, this Bigelow stuff ain’t bad. It ain’t gonna change your life or nothin’, but it’ll warm you up and it tastes alright. And that’s good enough for me.

I buy the big box, the one with a hundred bags. That way I don’t have to go to the store so often. And sometimes, when I’m feelin’ generous, I’ll give a few bags to Martha. She likes her lemon tea, you know. And I figure, a little kindness never hurt nobody.

So, there you have it. My two cents on Bigelow black tea. Take it or leave it. It’s just tea, after all. But sometimes, a good cup of tea is all you need.
