black tea
Today I’m going to share my experience making some black cherry tea.
So, I saw all this talk online about the benefits of drinking tea, like how it can be good for your heart and might even help with blood pressure. I figured, why not give it a shot? And I really like cherries, so black cherry tea sounded pretty tasty. The stuff I read said that tea is generally healthy but also warned about drinking too much because of the caffeine.
First, I went and got the stuff needed. Not a whole lot, just some black tea bags, fresh cherries, and a bit of honey in case it needed sweetening. Oh, and water, can’t forget that!
I started by boiling some water in a pot. While that was going, I took the pits out of a handful of cherries. I used about a cup of cherries for this. It was a bit messy, but pretty satisfying to get those pits out.
Once the water was boiling, I turned off the heat and tossed in two black tea bags and then add the cherries. Let that sit for about 5-7 minutes to get all the flavors mixed together. Oh boy, it smelled good while it was steeping! The kitchen started smelling like a cherry orchard. It was awesome!
After that, I poured the tea through a strainer into my mug. I didn’t want chunks of cherries in my tea. I gave it a little taste, and it was a bit tart, so I stirred in a teaspoon of honey. Perfect!
And there you have it, homemade black cherry tea. It turned out really good, not too sweet, with a nice cherry kick. I’ve been drinking it for a few days now, and I do feel a bit more relaxed.
Anyway, that’s my little tea-making adventure. It’s been a fun and tasty experiment!
