Okay, so, the other day I was thinking, “How much caffeine am I really getting from my daily cup of tea?” I always go for Lipton black tea in the morning, you know, to kickstart my day. But I never really stopped to consider the caffeine content. So, I decided to look into it.
First, I grabbed a few bags of my usual Lipton black tea. The package doesn’t really say much about caffeine, just the usual brewing instructions. I brewed a cup, just like I always do – boiling water, steep for about 3-5 minutes, and then adding nothing, just drink directly. And after a cup, I really can feel my brain work better.
Then, I did some digging online to get a better idea. It turns out that a regular cup of Lipton black tea has around 55 mg of caffeine. That’s a decent amount, but here’s the kicker: it can vary. Like, if you brew it stronger or longer, you might get more caffeine. My friend tell me, the longer brew time will bring more caffeine, but after I saw the data I know, normally just 3-5 min is ok.
I also found out that other types of tea have less caffeine. Like, green tea has around 30 mg, and herbal teas have almost zero. Who knew? I always thought black tea was the strongest, but it’s all about the type of tea leaves and how they’re processed. And the most important thing is I also found that, 2 cups of tea = 1 cup of coffee. So I think drink Lipton black tea is a good way to start my day, but if I want more caffeine, I think drink coffee will be a better choice.
So, there you have it. My little experiment to figure out the caffeine in my Lipton black tea. It wasn’t exactly scientific, but I learned a lot. Now, I can enjoy my morning cup with a bit more knowledge about what I’m putting into my body. Pretty interesting, right?
