Okay, so today I tried making black tea with honey, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. I woke up and decided, “Why not try something new for breakfast?” I’m not a huge tea person, but I’ve been seeing this combo all over the internet, and you know, I was curious.

First, I boiled some water in my old, trusty kettle. While waiting, I grabbed a black tea bag from a box I had lying around – I think it was some generic brand, nothing fancy. Once the water was boiling, I poured it into my favorite mug, which is this oversized one with a funny cat on it, and dropped in the tea bag. I let it steep for about, I don’t know, maybe five minutes? I just waited until the water turned a deep, dark color.

  • Boil water
  • Put a black tea bag in a mug
  • Pour boiling water into the mug
  • Steep for about 5 minutes
  • Remove the tea bag
  • Add honey to taste

Then came the honey part. I removed the tea bag and squirted in some honey. I didn’t measure it, just eyeballed it. I probably added a bit too much because I have a sweet tooth. After stirring it with a spoon, I took a sip, and honestly, it wasn’t bad. It was warm and comforting, and the sweetness of the honey really complemented the slight bitterness of the black tea. I drank the whole thing while scrolling through my phone, reading some random stuff online. One article got my attention that it might even help with weight loss. I don’t know about that, but I guess it’s worth trying?

I finished my cup and thought, “Well, that was a nice little experiment.” I don’t know if I’ll make it every day, but it’s definitely something I’d try again. Maybe next time I’ll use a different type of honey or try it with a different kind of black tea. Who knows, maybe I’ll become a tea person after all.

My Thoughts

In the end, it was a simple, yet satisfying experience. It didn’t take much time or effort, and it was a nice change from my usual breakfast routine. Plus, it felt a little bit healthy, even though I probably added too much honey, haha. I enjoyed the taste, and it was a relaxing way to start my day. I might even try different variations of this in the future. The internet says it helps lose weight. I do want to lose some weight these days, you know. Maybe I will drink this everyday!
