fruit tea
This here black tea kettle, I tell ya, it’s a thing, ain’t it? Gotta have one, if you like your tea. My old one, it got all rusty and yucky. So I got me this new black one. Shines real nice, it does.
Now, keepin’ it clean, that’s the trick. This here black tea kettle, it ain’t gonna clean itself, ya know? Gotta empty it out, every time. Don’t let no water sit in there. That water, it gets all hard and crusty. We call it, uh, limescale. Makes the tea taste funny. Bad stuff, that.
And, you gotta use somethin’ to clean it. Not just soap, neither. Soap’s for dishes, and hands. This here kettle, it needs somethin’ special. Like that, uh, vinegar stuff. That’s the ticket. That stuff, it eats away at that crusty stuff, the limescale. Makes it all go away. Then your black tea kettle will be all clean and the tea will taste good again. And you need to get one of them filters, to put in your black tea kettle. To catch all that stuff in the water. To keep your kettle clean.
This here black tea kettle, it’s a good one. But any kettle, you gotta take care of it. If you don’t clean a kettle, it gets full of that limescale. I’ve seen it myself. Then you gotta buy a whole new one. Like I did.
Some folks, they use that bakin’ soda stuff. I heard that’s good for, like, oil and dirt, not for limescale. Not sure about that, though. I just stick with the vinegar. Works every time. That’s all I need to keep my black tea kettle clean. Vinegar is good for cleaning.
You fill that kettle up with water and vinegar. Equal parts, that’s what they say. Then you boil it up. Gets all steamy and hot. Then you let it sit. Just let it sit there and do its thing. Then you can scrub it a bit, if you want. Gets all that gunk off.
This here black tea kettle, it’s a beauty. You can clean the outside with some soapy water. But you gotta use a soft cloth, nothin’ scratchy. It will make your kettle look brand new.
But inside, that’s where the vinegar goes. I’m tellin’ ya, it’s like magic. Makes that kettle shine like new. And the tea, oh, the tea tastes so much better. When you got a clean kettle, the tea is just, well, it’s just right.
My old kettle, it was a mess. Didn’t know about the vinegar back then. Just let it get all crusty. Had to throw it out. Waste of money. This new black tea kettle, though, I’m gonna take care of it. Gonna use that vinegar, keep it clean. Gonna last me a long time, this one.
And don’t you go forgettin’, you gotta rinse it out good after you use the vinegar. Don’t want no vinegar taste in your tea. Just rinse it a few times with plain water. Then you’re good to go. Ready for another pot of tea.
I remember my mama, she had a kettle, too. An old one, it was. She used to scrub it with, I don’t know what. Some kinda powder. Worked pretty good, I guess. But the vinegar, that’s easier. Just pour it in, boil it up, let it sit. Easy peasy.
This black tea kettle, though, it’s somethin’ else. Heats up fast, too. Don’t gotta wait all day for the water to boil. Just a few minutes, and you got hot water for your tea. That’s important, ya know? When you want your tea, you want it now.
So, yeah, that’s about all I know about black tea kettles. Keep ’em clean, use that vinegar. Don’t let the water sit in there. And rinse it out good. That’s the secret. That’s how you keep a kettle for a long, long time. And it will make good tea for you every day. And you won’t have to throw it away, like I did with my old kettle.
This here new black one, it’s a keeper. Gonna make me a lot of tea, this one. And I’m gonna enjoy every cup. ‘Cause I know how to take care of it now. Thanks to that vinegar trick. You should try it sometime. You’ll see. Your kettle will thank you. And your tea will taste better, too. That’s for sure.
