Okay, here is my sharing about the “tea set blue willow” today.

So, I started this little project because I wanted a nice tea set, you know? And not just any tea set, but something with that classic Blue Willow pattern. I had seen it around, and it just looked so elegant. I figured, why not try to put one together myself?

First, I did some digging online. I found out that Blue Willow was actually called “Dilwyn” Willow when it first came out in 1924. That’s a fun little fact, huh? I also learned it’s a design by Burleigh Pottery. They call it a “revived collection,” which sounds pretty fancy. Anyway, I started looking for pieces with this pattern.

I found this cute teacup gift set. It was perfect! They said it was my “new favorite teaware pattern,” and honestly, they might be right. I really liked the design. They included 30g tins of Blue Willow Ceremonial Grade Matchas, and there were two kinds! I could not decide which one to start with, so I decided to try both!

My Tea Set Collection

  • Teacups: I managed to find a couple of teacups that matched the gift set. They were just the right size and felt good in my hand.
  • Tea Bowl: I also stumbled upon a textured black ceramic chawan. I know it’s for matcha, but I thought it would look nice with the set, too.
  • Puerh Tea: Since I was getting into tea, I picked up some spring 2020 shou puerh tea. It’s from 200-400 year old trees! It had this slightly dry raw cacao flavor that I thought was interesting.

Putting it all together was fun. I arranged the teacups, the tea bowl, and the tea on a nice tray. It looked really good, if I do say so myself. I even found a light blue fitted sheet that kind of matched the whole vibe. I guess you could say I went all out.

I have been using the set for a while now, and I am really happy with it. It makes having tea feel a little more special. Plus, it looks great on my table. It was definitely worth the effort to put it all together. If you are thinking about getting a tea set, I would definitely recommend checking out the Blue Willow pattern. It’s a classic for a reason!
