Okay, so I’ve been seeing these bottled oolong teas everywhere, and I finally decided to give it a shot and make my own. Figured, why not? It’s gotta be cheaper, and probably tastier, right?

Getting Started

First things first, I grabbed some oolong tea leaves. I went with some loose leaf stuff I found at the local Asian market, looked pretty decent. I’m no tea expert, but it smelled good.

The Brewing Process

Next up, I boiled some water. I used, like, maybe four cups? I wasn’t really measuring, just eyeballed it. Then, I threw the tea leaves into a big pitcher. Poured the hot water over them and let it steep.

I let that sit for… I don’t know, maybe 5-7 minutes? Until the color looked about right. It’s was a nice, golden-brown color.

  • Added loose leaf oolong tea to a pitcher
  • Poured hot water over tea leaves
  • Steeped for 5-7 minutes

Cooling It Down

I took out the leaves, and it was too hot now. I put it in the fridge. The key is you gotta let it cool down completely before you bottle it. Patience, young grasshopper. Or, you know, just someone making tea.

Bottling and Enjoying

Once it was good and cold, I poured the tea into some glass bottles I had lying around. Make sure the bottles are clean! Wouldn’t want any funky flavors messing with my tea.

And that’s it! I stuck the bottles back in the fridge. Now I’ve got my own homemade bottled oolong tea, ready to go whenever I want a refreshing *, it was way easier than I thought. And the taste? Way better than the store-bought stuff, in my very humble opinion.

I am so happy I did it.
