Okay, so I’ve been on this whole white tea kick lately, and I was super curious about how much caffeine I was actually getting from my White Peony. I mean, I know it’s less than coffee, but how much less? So, I did a little experiment.

My Caffeine Investigation

First, I grabbed my favorite White Peony tea. You know, the one with the fluffy leaves and silvery buds? That’s the stuff.

Then, I went online for some info. I found some data that was saying White Peony has around 15-30mg of caffeine per cup, while a regular coffee has something like 95mg. Ok, So it is a smaller number. But still want to see it by myself.

I brewed a cup, following my usual routine:

  • Boiled some fresh, filtered water.
  • Used about a teaspoon of the tea leaves for my mug.
  • Let it steep for like 5 minutes – I like mine a little stronger.

The result? A delicate, slightly sweet, and floral cup of tea. Seriously, it’s so good.

Now, I’m no scientist, so I couldn’t measure the caffeine content or anything. But I can tell you how it felt. I definitely got a gentle lift – way smoother than the jolt I get from coffee. No jitters, no crash later. Just a nice, sustained feeling of alertness. I could focus on my work, but I wasn’t bouncing off the walls.

So, based on my highly unscientific experiment, I’m gonna say that the numbers I see online are probably right. White Peony gives you a nice little caffeine boost, perfect for a chill afternoon or when you need to focus without feeling wired. I’ll definitely be keeping this in my tea rotation!
