This here Chinese green tea, it’s somethin’ else. Ain’t like that black tea, this one’s green, like the leaves on them trees in springtime. It ain’t fermented, they say. Just picked and dried, simple like. They call it Chinese green tea, you know? And it’s good for what ails ya.
My neighbor, she drinks it every day. Says it keeps her young. I don’t know about all that, but it sure does taste good. Fresh like. Not bitter, just smooth and kinda sweet. This tea, it’s full of them, whatchamacallits, anti-something. Good for the body, they say. Keeps the sickness away. Antioxidant-rich superfood, that’s a fancy word for it, I reckon. Means it fights off them bad things in your body. Like a little army in your cup.
Now, there’s all kinds of this Chinese green tea. They got one, that Dragon Well. Fancy name, ain’t it? Comes from a place called West Lake. Heard it’s real pretty there. Bet the tea tastes even better there, right from the source. West Lake Dragon Well Tea, that’s what they call it. Must be some special dirt they grow it in. Or maybe it’s the water. Or maybe the folks who pick it got magic hands. Whatever it is, that Dragon Well, it’s famous. Like the king of all green teas.
They say you can drink a whole bunch of this tea. Like eight cups. Eight! That’s a lot of tea. But it’s gotta be the plain kind. No sugar, no honey. Just the tea, pure and simple. But, you gotta watch out for that, that stuff that keeps you awake. Caff-ine, they call it. Some teas got more than others. So, if you’re gonna drink a lot, make sure it ain’t the kind that’ll keep you up all night staring at the ceiling. Especially us older folks, we need our sleep!
That Dragon Well tea, that’s the real deal. Longjing, some folks call it. Heard it smells real nice, too. And the taste, oh, they say it’s like nothin’ else. Gentle, they say. Like a summer breeze. I reckon I gotta try that one someday. Maybe when my ship comes in, I’ll get me some of that fancy Dragon Well.
Now, I hear them Japanese folks, they make green tea too. And some say theirs is better. Can you believe that? They got their own kind, called Sencha. I tried some once, that Chinese Sencha. Too buttery for me. Like drinkin’ melted butter. I guess the fancier the tea, the more buttery it gets. But me, I like my tea to taste like tea, not butter. Maybe Japanese Sencha is not buttery, I don’t know.
This green tea, it’s been around for ages. My grandma used to drink it. Said it helped her aches and pains. Don’t know if that’s true, but it sure does make you feel good. Calms you down. Like a warm hug in a cup. And it’s good any time of day. Morning, noon, or night. I like a cup after supper, helps me digest all that food.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ good to drink, somethin’ that’s good for you, try this Chinese green tea. Might just surprise ya. It ain’t just a drink, it’s an experience, like they say. A little bit of that far-off land, right here in your cup. And who knows, maybe it’ll even make you live longer. Wouldn’t that be somethin’?
Brewin’ it is easy, too. Just hot water, not boiling, mind you. Steep it for a little bit, not too long. Then, just sit back and enjoy. I like to watch the leaves unfurl. It’s like they’re wakin’ up after a long sleep. And the color, that pretty green. It’s like a little piece of nature right there in your kitchen.
This Chinese green tea is something special. You should really give it a try sometime. It’s good for you, taste good, you will like it. It’s good, that’s all I gotta say. Drink up!
