Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another interesting experiment. Today, I tried making my own coffee tea bags. Yeah, you heard that right – coffee in a tea bag! Sounds weird, but stick with me, it actually kinda works.
So, first off, I grabbed some coffee. You’ll want to use finely ground coffee for this. I just used my regular pre-ground stuff, nothing fancy. Then, I found some of those empty tea bags. You know, the ones you can fill yourself? These are key. I picked some up online and they’re pretty cheap.
Next, I scooped about one to two tablespoons of the coffee into each tea bag. It was a bit messy, I won’t lie, but I managed. Once the bags were filled, I sealed them up. Some of these tea bags have drawstrings, which is super handy. If not, you might need to fold and staple them shut, like I did.
Now for the fun part – brewing. I boiled some water and poured it into a mug, just like I was making tea. Then, I dropped one of my coffee-filled tea bags into the hot water. I let it sit there for a few minutes, about three to five, to let the coffee steep.
After a few minutes, I took the bag out. The water had turned a nice coffee color, so that was a good sign. I took a sip, and you know what? It wasn’t half bad! It tasted like regular brewed coffee, maybe a bit weaker, but still pretty decent. It’s definitely not as strong as what you’d get from a coffee machine, but for a quick fix, it works.
Now, I know some of you are thinking about reusing these bags. I tried it, just to see what would happen. I used the same bag for a second cup, and it worked, but the coffee was a lot weaker. I wouldn’t recommend going beyond two uses, and even then, you should use the bag pretty quickly. If it sits around for too long, it might get gross or even moldy.
So, there you have it – my coffee tea bag experiment. It’s a cool little hack if you’re in a pinch or just want to try something different. It’s not going to replace my regular coffee routine, but it’s fun to mess around with. Plus, it’s way easier to clean up than a coffee machine or a French press. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
That’s all for today, folks. Stay tuned for more of my random experiments. Peace out!
