Coffee vs Black Tea The Ultimate Caffeine Comparison

Alright, let’s talk about this coffee and tea thing, you know, the stuff everyone drinks in the morning. Folks always gabbin’ about which one’s got more of that get-up-and-go stuff, what do they call it? Caff-een? Yeah, that’s it.

So, does coffee have more of that caff-een than black tea? Well, from what I hear, and I’ve heard a lot from them city folks, it seems like coffee’s the real kicker. They say it’s got more, a whole lot more sometimes.

I heard someone sayin’ a regular cup of coffee, you know, the normal-sized ones, has got somethin’ like 95 of them caff-een milligrams. Ninety-five! That’s a big number, ain’t it? Now, that same amount of black tea, that’s the dark kind, only has around 40 to 70 milligrams. See? Coffee’s got way more, almost twice as much sometimes, they say. Coffee is the stronger one, got more kick to it.

Now, some folks like that strong kick, gets ’em goin’ in the mornin’. But others, well, they can’t handle it. Gets ’em all jittery and whatnot. Those folks, they might go for the black tea. It still wakes you up, but it’s not so rough on you.

I also heard tell that there’s different kinds of tea, too. Like that green tea, the one that looks kinda like grass water. That one’s got even less of that caff-een stuff. Maybe only 20 or 30 milligrams. So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ real gentle, that might be your best bet.

  • Coffee: A big ol’ kick, around 95 to 200 milligrams of caff-een.
  • Black Tea: Not as strong, but still gets you goin’, around 40 to 70 milligrams.
  • Green Tea: Real gentle, only about 20 to 45 milligrams.

But you know, it ain’t always the same. Sometimes the coffee’s stronger, sometimes it’s weaker. Same with the tea. I guess it depends on how they make it, how much of them coffee beans or tea leaves they use. And how big your cup is, too! The bigger the cup, the more caff-een you’re gonna get, that’s just common sense.

I remember my grandson, he’s a smart fella, he told me somethin’ about them tea leaves bein’ “oxidized.” Said that’s what makes black tea different from green tea. I don’t know much about that fancy talk, but it sounds like it has somethin’ to do with how strong the tea is. More of that oxidation, more of that caff-een, I guess.

Anyways, it all boils down to this: if you want a real strong drink to wake you up, go for the coffee. If you want somethin’ a little less strong, black tea’s your friend. And if you want somethin’ real mild, try that green tea. But don’t go drinkin’ too much of any of it, or you’ll be up all night, countin’ sheep, and that ain’t no good for nobody.

And you know, some folks say tea is healthier, got them anti-somethin’s in it. But me? I just drink what I like. Sometimes it’s coffee, sometimes it’s tea. Just depends on how I’m feelin’ that day.

So, there you have it. Coffee’s got more caff-een than black tea, most of the time. But it ain’t always the same, and it ain’t the only thing that matters. You gotta figure out what you like and what works best for you. And don’t listen to too much of that fancy talk from them city folks, half the time they don’t know what they’re talkin’ about neither.

Just remember, drink what you like, and don’t drink too much! That’s what I always say.
