Okay, so I’ve been on this huge tea kick lately, trying all sorts of different kinds. I stumbled upon White Peony tea and thought, “Ooh, fancy!” But then the practical side of me kicked in – I needed to know: does this stuff have caffeine?
First, I brewed myself a cup. Gotta do a taste test, right? It was super delicate and floral, way less intense than, say, black tea. That got me thinking maybe the caffeine levels were lower too.
So, I did what anyone would do – I hit the internet! I started digging around, trying to find some solid info.
It wasn’t a straightforward answer, to be honest. Some places said “very little caffeine,” others had numbers all over the place. But finally I found something that seemed pretty reliable.
I found that a regular cup of White Peony has something like 15-30 milligrams of caffeine. Sounds small, right? To put that in perspective, my usual morning coffee packs around 95 milligrams. That’s a HUGE difference!
So, I figure, White Peony is fine for an afternoon or evening tea. I get a nice, gentle boost without the jitters or the staying-up-all-night thing that coffee sometimes gives me. For my strong caffeine needs, I use other coffee. I was mainly concerned about accidentally drinking too much caffeine late at night.
I still enjoy my normal coffee, but it’s cool to have a lower-caffeine option that still tastes amazing. Problem solved!
