Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to get into tea sets for a while now, and I finally took the plunge! I decided to go for a Dragonware tea set, mostly because they look super cool. I’m a total sucker for anything with dragons, so it was a no-brainer for me.
First off, I had to figure out where to even find one of these things. I started by hitting up all the local antique shops and flea markets. Let me tell you, that was an adventure in itself! I spent hours sifting through dusty old stuff, and while I found some interesting pieces, no Dragonware.
After striking out in person, I turned to the internet. I browsed a bunch of online marketplaces, and that’s where I finally hit the jackpot. I found a seller who had a whole bunch of different Dragonware sets listed. Score!
Now, this is where things got tricky. There were so many options! Some were bright green, some were white, and some were even black. They all had these raised dragon designs, which I learned is called “Moriage.” It’s like, bumpy and textured, and it makes the dragons really pop.
Eventually, I settled on a white Dragonware set. It came with a teapot, creamer, and sugar bowl, and it was listed for around $150. Not too shabby, right? I pulled the trigger and bought it. Waiting for it to arrive was torture! I was so excited to finally have my own Dragonware tea set.
When the package finally arrived, I ripped it open like a kid on Christmas morning. The set was packed really well, with tons of bubble wrap and packing peanuts. Everything was in perfect condition, no chips or cracks. Phew!
The set looks even better in person than it did in the pictures. The dragons are amazing! They’re all swirly and detailed, and the Moriage really makes them stand out. I immediately brewed a pot of tea and poured myself a cup. It felt so fancy! This was a big upgrade from my usual mismatched mugs.
Now, I’m not gonna lie, I’m still learning about tea and stuff. But I’m having a blast experimenting with different types of tea and pretending I’m some kind of tea connoisseur. This Dragonware set has definitely made tea time a lot more fun. I’m already thinking about getting another set, maybe one of those green ones. We’ll see!
