family size iced tea bags

Alright, let me tell you about my recent little project – making iced tea with these “family size” tea bags. So, I went on this online shopping spree, right? You know how it is, scrolling through endless options. And there it was, eBay, flashing all these deals on family-size tea bags. I thought, “Why not?” Got myself a pack, with a money-back guarantee and all that jazz. The brand was Red Diamond, and they were even decaf, which is great ’cause I like my tea anytime, without the buzz.

Then it hit me, what exactly is “family size”? I mean, how much tea does this thing make? I did a bit of digging and found out that these bad boys are supposed to brew about a quart each. Now, I’m no tea expert, but that sounded like a lot. I learned that each of these Lipton family-size teabags is equal to 3 regular teabags. That made sense! I need to make two liters of iced tea for a family gathering, so I figured a couple of these would do the trick.

I also stumbled upon something called the Rainforest Alliance. Apparently, it’s some kind of organization that’s all about making a better future. I guess it’s a good thing, you know, caring about the planet and all while making my tea.

So, here’s how I made the tea. I boiled some water, popped in two of these giant tea bags, and let them steep. The kitchen started smelling like tea, which was nice. After a while, I took out the bags, added some cold water to cool it down, and threw in some ice. And there you have it, a big jug of homemade iced tea, all thanks to those family-size bags.

Results

  • Amount: Ended up with about two liters of tea, just like I planned.
  • Taste: Pretty good, I must say. Not too strong, not too weak.
  • Effort: Super easy. Boiling water and waiting was the hardest part.

All in all, it was a successful experiment. I’m definitely doing this again. Maybe next time I’ll try a different brand, see how that goes. But for now, I’m just gonna enjoy my big batch of iced tea. Cheers!
