tea ceremony
Okay, here is my blog post about using fillable tea bags:
So, I’ve been trying to cut down on waste, you know? And one thing that always bothered me was those little plastic bits on regular tea bags. I mean, you put the tea bag in hot water, right? And we all know heat and plastic ain’t a good combo. It’s like, are we drinking melted plastic with our tea? No, thanks.
So I went on a hunt for something better. That’s when I stumbled upon these fillable tea bags. At first, I got a pack of 100, just to test them out. They were a decent size, something like 3.15 x 3.94 inches. Big enough to hold a good amount of loose leaf tea.
Using them was a breeze. I just scooped my favorite loose leaf tea into the bag, pulled the drawstring, and bam! Ready to go. And let me tell you, the tea tasted way better. I used to squeeze my tea bags, thinking it would make the tea stronger or something. But my friend told me that squeezing just makes it bitter because you’re pushing out all those tannins and stuff. Plus, it gets all cloudy. Not cool.
With these fillable bags, I didn’t feel the need to squeeze. I just let the tea steep, and it was perfect every time. Plus, no more worrying about plastic bits in my cup. Some folks keep a little dish next to their kettle for used tea bags, like a “teabag tidy.” But with these, I can just toss them out with no regrets.
After I finished up the first pack of 100, I went ahead and got a bigger batch, like 400 this time. I’m telling ya, these things are a game-changer. I get to enjoy my loose leaf tea without the plastic and it is a breeze to use them. It’s a win-win!
