Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this here Gold Peak Green Tea. I ain’t no fancy expert or nothin’, but I know what I likes and what I don’t.

First off, they say it’s made with “carefully selected tea leaves”. Now, I don’t know about all that “carefully selected” stuff. Sounds like somethin’ them city folks say. But I reckon it means they pick the good leaves, not the bad ones. And they “brew it to perfection”, they say. Perfection, huh? Well, it do taste pretty good, I gotta give ’em that. It ain’t bitter like some of that other green tea I tried once. This one’s kinda sweet, but not too sweet, ya know?

Now, some folks are always fussin’ about whether stuff is “healthy” or not. Always readin’ them labels and whatnot. Me? I just eat what tastes good. But I did hear some talk about this Gold Peak Green Tea. They say it’s got some good things in it, and maybe some not-so-good things.

  • The Good Stuff: I heard it’s got some of them “anti-somethings” in it, antioxidants, I think they called ’em. Supposed to be good for ya, keep ya from gettin’ sick and all. And it ain’t got a whole lot of that caffeine stuff, so it don’t make your heart race too much. Just enough to perk ya up a little. They say it’s got about 25mg in a big bottle. That don’t sound like too much to me.
  • The Not-So-Good Stuff: Well, it’s got sugar, that’s for sure. Real cane sugar, they say. Not that fake stuff. But sugar’s still sugar, ain’t it? This here bottle says it’s got 16 grams of sugar for every 12 ounces. That seems like a lot to me. My grandpappy always said too much sugar ain’t good for ya. Made your teeth rot and your belly ache. They also say it ain’t got much of them other vitamins and things. No fiber, no nothin’ much. So maybe it ain’t gonna make you strong like Popeye and his spinach, but it do taste good.

They got all kinds of flavors, I hear. But I mostly just stick to the regular green tea. I tried some of them other fancy ones once, but they tasted kinda funny to me. Like they put flowers in it or somethin’. This plain green tea is just right for me.

Now, I went to the store the other day, tryin’ to get me some of this Gold Peak Green Tea, and wouldn’t you know it, they was all out! The man at the store said somethin’ about “supply shortages” and only makin’ the “most requested flavors.” Well, I reckon that green tea is pretty popular then. He told me to try some other “golden stuff,” but I ain’t want no other stuff. I wanted my Gold Peak Green Tea!

So, I had to go without it for a few days. It was rough, I tell ya. I tried drinkin’ some of that other tea, the kind you make with them little bags, but it just ain’t the same. It don’t taste as sweet and it makes my mouth feel all dry. I guess I’m just spoiled now, used to that good Gold Peak flavor. They say that bag tea is healthier and cheaper, but sometimes you just gotta treat yourself, you know? Life’s too short to be drinkin’ nasty tea.

This Gold Peak Green Tea, it’s got “high-quality tea leaves” and “pure filtered water,” they say. And that real cane sugar, like I said before. It all adds up to a pretty tasty drink. They say the sweetness level is a “5”. I don’t know what that means exactly, but it sounds about right to me. Not too sweet, not too bland, just right in the middle.

So, is this Gold Peak Green Tea healthy? Well, I ain’t no doctor, but I reckon it ain’t the worst thing you could drink. It’s got some good stuff in it, and yeah, it’s got some sugar too. But if you ain’t drinkin’ it all day long, it probably ain’t gonna hurt ya none. And if it makes ya happy, well, that’s gotta be worth somethin’, right? I always say, a little bit of what you like does you good. And I surely do like this here Gold Peak Green Tea. It’s my little treat, my little pick-me-up. So, if you see it in the store, grab yourself a bottle. You might just like it too. But don’t go buyin’ it all up, ya hear? Leave some for me!

And that’s all I gotta say about that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go see if I can find me some of that Gold Peak Green Tea. I’m startin’ to get a thirst just talkin’ about it.
