tea ceremony
You know, that Gold Peak Green Tea, I see it all the time in the store. My grandson, he loves that stuff. Says it’s good for him. I don’t know about all that. Back in my day, we just drank whatever tea mama made. Didn’t have all these fancy names, Gold Peak, Silver Peak, whatever peak.
But this Gold Peak Green Tea, they say it’s healthy. I guess it’s better than soda pop, that’s for sure. All that sugar in soda, rots your teeth, makes you fat. This tea, they say it’s got less sugar. Less sugar than their sweet tea, I seen on the bottle, 16g sugar, not 32g, so half the sugar. Still got some sugar though. Ain’t nothing like water, pure and clean.
They say it’s made with real tea leaves, picked when they’re, you know, “peak taste.” Whatever that means. Sounds fancy. They put it in those plastic bottles. I remember when everything was in glass. Heavier, but felt more, I don’t know, real? Now everything’s plastic. But hey, that’s the way it is now, I guess. Can’t have those glass shattering all over the road or the kitchen.
My grandson, he drinks it after he plays his sports. He says it’s refreshing, good taste. He likes that it ain’t too sweet. He’s a good boy, watches his sugar. Not like some of these kids today, all hopped up on sugar and those energy drinks. This Gold Peak Green Tea, I think, it keeps him hydrated. That’s important, especially when it’s hot out.
I tried it once, this Gold Peak stuff. It was alright. Tasted like tea, a little sweet, not bad. But I still prefer my own tea, brewed strong, with just a touch of honey. Old fashioned, I guess. But that’s how I like it. It’s just tea, water, and honey, simple stuff, just three things. Don’t need all the fancy stuff in those plastic bottles. That Gold Peak Green Tea price is sure high, too, not cheap. Cheaper to make it yourself, you know? Buy them tea bags, that’s what I say.
But I guess if you’re in a hurry, and you want something cold to drink, and you don’t want soda, then this Gold Peak Green Tea is okay. It ain’t poison, that’s for sure. My grandson drinks it all the time, and he’s still kicking. But still, I worry about what’s all in it. They say it’s just tea, but who knows what else they put in there? They got those big factories, making tons of it. Can’t be all that natural, can it?
I reckon it’s all about what you like, and what you’re used to. These young folks, they grew up with all these choices. We didn’t have that. We drank what we had. Maybe that was better, maybe not. But I do think we were healthier back then. Less sugar, less processed food, more moving around. We worked hard, walked everywhere. Didn’t sit around all day like these kids today, staring at their phones.
So, this Gold Peak Green Tea, is it good? Is it bad? I don’t know. It’s just a drink. Probably not the worst thing you can put in your body. But it ain’t the best either. Drink it if you like it, I guess. But don’t think it’s some kind of magic potion. It’s just tea, with some sugar, in a plastic bottle. It has those nutrition things on the bottle, you know, like calories, fat, vitamins and all that. I don’t really know what that means. Some have more, some have less.
If you want my advice, make your own tea. It’s cheaper, and you know what’s in it. Boil some water, steep some tea bags, add a little honey if you like it sweet. That’s the real deal. That’s what I’ll be sticking to. But hey, you do you. That’s what they say, right? You do you. You drink that Gold Peak Green Tea. You drink it all day long if you want to. Just don’t come crying to me when your teeth fall out, and you get as big as a house. Just kidding. Maybe.
They say tea is good for you. Helps you relax, or something. I don’t know about all that. I always think that green tea is good for you. Maybe this Gold Peak Green Tea, with all that sugar in it, it ain’t so good. But then they say that tea has those, what do you call them, antioxidants? Good for your heart, they say. I don’t know. I just drink it because I like it. And because it reminds me of my mama. She always had a pot of tea brewing on the stove. Good times, simple times.
