I was checking out some new stuff to try out, and this “golden matcha green tea” thing caught my eye. I thought, “Why not?” So, I got a pack of what they call “Golden Herbs Hojicha.” It’s supposed to be some fancy organic stuff, certified by the USDA and OCIA. Sounds legit, right?
They say it’s natural Japanese green tea, roasted just right, and hand-picked from old family farms in Uji. I’m no tea expert, but that sounds pretty cool to me. I opened the pack, and it smelled earthy, a bit nutty, which was interesting.
The water turned this deep brown color. I let it steep for a few minutes. The instructions on the pack were pretty straightforward. No rocket science here, haha.
I took a sip. It was different—not like the usual green tea I drink. It had this roasted flavor, kind of smoky, but smooth. Not bad at all. I also tried another type. They call it “premium grade” something. Whatever that means. I followed the same steps, boiled water, measured the green tea powder and then poured the water. After a few minutes, I took a sip.
Honestly, I couldn’t tell much difference. Maybe these premium leaves are too fancy for my simple taste. They mentioned it’s rich in antioxidants, which is a plus. Keeps you healthy, you know.
So, I made myself a cup of this golden matcha a few times now. It’s a nice change from my regular tea. I mixed it with a bit of honey once, and it tasted even better.
There you have it. I tried something new, and it wasn’t a total disaster. Might even keep drinking it. If you’re into trying different teas, maybe give this one a shot. It’s an experience, I guess.
